The staff was exceptional: courteous, helpful, willing to go above and beyond — and I put this to the test because I had a personal issue that they took care of for me. The location was perfect as it is just one street up from the harbor, and the facilities were spacious and yet just the right size room. If I came here again, I would definitely stay here.

Friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast spread and great position right in town
Η διαμονή μας στο Theophilos ήταν πραγματικά εξαιρετική και από αυτές τις εμπειρίες που σε κάνουν να χαίρεσαι την επιλογή σου από την πρώτη στιγμή. Το ξενοδοχείο βρίσκεται σε ιδανική τοποθεσία, κυριολεκτικά στο κέντρο της πόλης, κάτι που στην πράξη σημαίνει ένα πολύ απλό και πολύτιμο πράγμα: τα κάνεις όλα με τα πόδια. Βόλτες, φαγητό, καφέ, ψώνια, περίπατοι — όλα είναι δίπλα σου, χωρίς ταλαιπωρία.
Το προσωπικό ήταν άψογο: εξυπηρετικό, ευγενικό, διακριτικό και πάντα διαθέσιμο χωρίς ποτέ να γίνεται πιεστικό. Το δωμάτιο ήταν καθαρό, πολύ άνετο και διακοσμημένο με γούστο, αλλά και με πρακτικότητα. Μείναμε στη σουίτα, η οποία πρακτικά καταλαμβάνει τη μισή σοφίτα, και αυτό της δίνει έναν ιδιαίτερο χαρακτήρα και ατμόσφαιρα. Θέλει βέβαια μια μικρή προσοχή στο… κεφάλι, λόγω της σοφίτας, αλλά αυτό δεν αποτέλεσε κανένα ουσιαστικό πρόβλημα.
Παρότι το ξενοδοχείο βρίσκεται μέσα στο κέντρο της πόλης, δεν είχαμε καμία ενόχληση και καθόλου φασαρία. Ησυχία, άνεση και αίσθηση χαλάρωσης, χωρίς να χάνεις το πλεονέκτημα της κεντρικής τοποθεσίας. Στα τεράστια συν είναι και το γεγονός ότι διαθέτει πάρκινγκ, κάτι ιδιαίτερα σημαντικό και καθόλου αυτονόητο όταν μένεις τόσο κεντρικά.
Θα το σύστηνα ανεπιφύλακτα και σίγουρα θα το προτιμήσω ξανά στο μέλλον. Ως μικρή πρακτική συμβουλή: αν νοικιάσετε αυτοκίνητο στο νησί, προτιμήστε κάτι μικρό. Οι δρόμοι είναι σε πολύ καλή κατάσταση, τουλάχιστον στο κεντρικό δίκτυο, αλλά ένα μικρό αυτοκίνητο κάνει τις μετακινήσεις και το παρκάρισμα σαφώς πιο εύκολα.
1)The hotel is at a great location, a stone's throw away from the centre of town, restaurants, shops etc and a ~10 min walk from the Tsamakia beach, which is the only real beach Mytilini has. 2)The buildings and courtyard are beautiful, 3)The breakfast includes a great selection of Greek delicacies. 4)Members of staff were pleasant and polite.
1)The hotel is advertised as a "roofgarden / pool bar" and the main reason we chose to pay the very expensive price compared to other facilities in the area was the pool. The pool is tiny which is fair enough but also a)not clean, i.e. full of bugs that the birds swoop down to eat, b)the bar is closed and, there is no music or anything else to make it qualify as a "roof garden". 2) The hotel was mainly manned by 1 member of staff behind reception. There is no bar as such, so despite the pleasant space in the garden where they could play some mild music and serve drinks, e.g. to wait while your partner is getting ready which is not much to ask from a 4 star hotel, the feeling was more akin to "The Shining" as in a ghost hotel which barely functions despite the fact it was full of guests. 3) Even though we booked months in advance and did not have any option in terms of rooms that I recall,, we got the most basic tiny room, perhaps one of the few without a balcony.4) The bathroom door kept getting stuck, 5) The shower worked in fits and bursts, 6) the safe stopped working and we were told to use a pin that did not include the first row of digits, 7) we got 2 bottles of water once in 7 days, 8)overall, even though it is not a bad hotel it's definitely not worth £1000 for 7 nights and I would marginally call their promotion false advertising. 9) To top it all off, when I asked them to book a taxi for the airport I was reassured with abundant confidence that "all taxis in the area accept payment by card" and yet the taxi that picked us up, apart from speeding and overtaking multiple cars illegally, denied payment by card using the classic excuse that "the POS does not work" and we had to to argue with airport authorities who were shouting that we can't stop there while trying to find an ATM machine.
