Don't miss staying inside the park
Pros:

I 1st visited Tikal in 1979. Grad students driving from Calif and on a budget so we stayed in Isla Flores. At that time I said if I ever come back, I am staying at the Jungle Lodge. And I have in 2018 and now 2026. It is so worth it to be right in the park; hear the howler monkeys and see foxes, spider monkeys, ocellated turkeys, coatamindis and have people show you videos of jaguars from the night before. It also makes it possible to rest at the pool, or just put your feet up mid day and then go back into the site for the afternoon or sunset tour. The only way to experience the park is to stay in it.

Cons:

Restaurant at the lodge is good but expensive. The restaurants the other side of the information center are excellent, better price and good food, unfortunately they close up by 3, probably dictated by the hotel restaurants. So I just ate dinner early. 1st day a great chicken soup with vegetables and rice, 2nd day guisado with chicken and rice, 3rd day pork with red beans and rice in a colorado/red sauce. All delicious.

El restaurante tiene una comida deliciosa y la ubicación son las cosas mas destacadas del hotel 10/10 Otras de las cosas que me gustó es el billar y la privacidad de sus cabañas. La chica del bar fue súper amable

Cons:

Lo que no me gustó: Cuando llegué el de la recepcion me quiso colocar en la cabaña numero 23 , una de las mas lejanas yo teniendo 2 maletas pesadas y el camino siendo de piedras. Luego de mucho insistir me cambiaron a una mas cercana. Tampoco tienen habilitado wifi a las cabañas mas que en la recepcion ( que esta lejos) esto hace la estadia un poco incomoda , ya que si necesitas comprar por web los boletos de tikal debes ir hasta el lobby o si necesitas recibir una llamada o chat de alguna emergencia no podrás. Entiendo que en toda el area no hay señal telefonica, pero si hay wifi en recepcion deberian considerar colocar en las habitaciones. La habitacion estaba llena de los bichitos de lluvia, se que aveces es inevitable que entren y aunq tiene un mosquitero la cama , recomendaria que tuvieran dentro una raqueta para bichos o luz que los atraiga o que revisaran antes de entregar la habitación para entregarla lo mas despejada posible.
Las camas tienen ruedas lo cual hace incómodo dormir se mueve muchísimo y dificulta el descanso. La habitacion no tenia Aire acondicionado, solo un abanico pequeño en el techo si duermes en el día o tarde hace mucho calor, en la madrugada si se pone fresco.

beautiful place. i would love to come back again
Pros:

The room was large and spacious. The room is in the middle of the jungle. You can see coatis and monkeys while staying here. The staff was helpful and kind. We stayed for two days so I packed our schedule full of tours and one evening we came back late from a tour. All I wanted was something cold simple and fresh for dinner after a long hike in a humid environment I was not used to. All I wanted was a cold sandwich. Of course, I couldn't find it on the menu; however, after explaining all I wanted was a simple sandwich de jamon the kitchen staff was able to make it possible. We also found a scorpion in our room and trapped it inside a cup until we could find someone to help us with it. The staff came and saved the day.

Cons:

We paid more for our upgraded room which we loved; however, not even a cup of coffee was complimentary. To get a cup of coffee for free, you need to order a meal, or they expect you to buy coffee from the cafe. On my last morning before leaving, I had to request a simple cup of coffee and explain I did not want anything fancy from the cafe, just a basic coffee. I received it but not without feeling like I wasn't making sense for asking for a simple cup of coffee. But other than this the place was amazing so not really much to dislike. I'd still return again and would love to stay exactly here.
