The accommodation is above a pub and close to Peckham Rye station The room was very nice with all you would expect - the important things, comfy bed and good shower were great. The Victoria is on a minor high street with cafes & independent shop x The pub serves good affordable food. A great place for an overnight/ weekend break.

Average breakfast. The room felt small and dingy.

The price. We had 5 nights in London on a six week trip. So had a budget.
Would I book it again. NOPE
Smelt damp and mouldy as you entered the downstairs bar. Did not eat there for that reason. Left our bags while we waited for room. When we returned these had not been placed in our room. Heading for the stairs we soon understood why. 3 sets of very narrow stairs in 30 plus degree heat.
Room was tidy and bed was fine. The so called air con was considerably lacking. But did drip all over the carpet adding the wet smell. Did we consider moving YES YES YES. No window opening. Was like a hot box at night. No fan. Lucky I had a small travel one.
Saw no staff as we did not eat there, but room was serviced every day and replaced bottled water.

Lick of paint here and there would take to new level
The air conditioning unit was brilliant as we stayed during a heat wave! Although it was a little noisy. Comfy bed and lovely bathroom.
The breakfast was really well cooked and flavoursome. A simple menu but catered for everyone.
Straight forward check in and out. And quiet location not far from the train station and high street.
The staff were really friendly and approachable.
The weather was 30+ degrees and it's not that we didn't like that the air conditioning wasn't working well. It was probably a matter of it not being able to cope with the heat. Perhaps more summer options at breakfast, like granola and fruit, as it was too hot for a cooked breakfast.
