Prices for food were a little high.
Clean, interesting, vibrant
Broken down furniture (wing back chairs in sitting area could actually cause injury)!no coffee in room (who wants to get out of bed and go OUT before you’re even awake) , no signs to find locations….very confusing. No ice in building had to hike to restaurant and they looked surprised that they were to give me some ice. Ventilation system was great. Decor is fabulous and gardens refreshed my soul in in
Everything we needed was available. The grounds were lovely, the fire pits were wonderful.
The prices for food are high, so we ended up eating off the campus for half of our stay. But we knew that coming in. It’s the standard Mcminnemans prices.
Uniqueness.
The Shed would close at 9 but at 8 “ Joshie would say he could make us a drink because he was cleaning up. If you are open till 9 or 10- then that’s your hours. Don’t make guests feel like you are imposing when the facility is open for another hour. This happened on more than 1 evening with him.
the staff was very nice and helpful, the plants, lighting, pictures and sitting areas were great. The food was ok, better food would have made the stay much better. We made reservations (as per site recommendation) at Nui Nui, came in told the gal i had a reservation she looked at me like i was crazy and told us to sit anywhere (the place was practically empty- Thursday night 7pm). We sat at a table and waited for over 10 min. no one came by to give us menus or to address us, so we left, saw no wait stay upon leaving. Went to the tavern on the square, was greeted and seated and attended to very promptly. The food was just rather plain (pizza and gumbo).
Food
Staying at Anderson School is like staying in an historic hotel set in a gorgeous garden. The room was immaculate, the food in all of the on site restaurants was delicious, and everyone on the staff was friendly and efficient. Eating on the patio was a special treat and there’s entertainment some evenings. 5 star in every way.

I loved our room, it was on the street
side, but still quiet . We brought our dog, and they had both a dog bowl and doggie bags ready. We're BedHeads and this has been our favorite stay. Thank you to all the staff!
Fun, quirky vibe. Really neat idea with lots of things to explore.
Overall, felt a bit dark and dingy.
