Location and appearance
Shower was functional but broken on the handle . Was super hot throughout the night (we did go on a hot night though )
It catered for our needs with 2 small dogs. Clean and the biggest white bath sheets. Beds comfortable.
The receptionist was lovely on arrival, very friendly and helpful. Bar staff and breakfast staff smiley and welcoming.
The main bar area was in need of a update, chairs very worn and grubby.
26 years ago we stayed here we stayed here for our Wedding Night and had a lovely experience and was hoping for the same especially as it was a couple of days before our anniversary.
Check in was 3p. We arrived at 3.30 got our roo. Card and the room hadn't been cleaned from the last occupants. A cleaner came up to us to say they hadn't got round to cleaning. Fortunately a family member lives a few miles away so we went to visit, so they had time to clean our room and a couple they had to do before ours.
The rooms are a good size though very dated and tired
The food was inedible, we witnessed lots of good hygiene violations and was unable to eat anything. The staff were dismissive, they seemed very short staffed.

The shower was rather difficult to adjust the temperature and not all rooms had a shelf in the shower for your toiletries.
Friendliness of staff. Excellent breakfast. Comfy bed and a pillow that didn't keep me awake all night. I had an amazing nights sleep. Comfy relaxed bar area and great value. As a confirmed technophobe even I found it fairly straightforward to book. Would definitely use again. Thank you

It was dirty, dated and did not include a safe as advertised. Additionally our friends room was entered by someone else who had requested a new key card from reception, reception didn’t do any security checks before handing them the card to someone elses room. Do not stay here.
Evening meal in bar was great but ran out of the option we wanted
Ran out of food on the menu and when I checked out they had added a second meal to my bill then was unable to remove at the time and still waiting for them to get back to me with new invoice and refund of food I did not have everything else was great
Friendly staff and very accommodating or most of them were! Comfortable bed and large rooms. Plenty of parking.
Better signage for the hotel. Comfortable outside seating rather than benches for those who aren't out all day!

Good to be on the ground floor in the motel style courtyard. Fully opening windows.
The website states 2 restaurants and therefore I expected lots of choice. However in fact one serves breakfast only and the other does evening meals.
At 7:20 pm I was unable to order food as the kitchen was reported to be too busy. It was suggested I called back in half an hour. Not sure why my order could not be taken , with an agreed later eating time.
Non catering staff clearly unhappy in role. Lots of open moaning in corridors and in the courtyard. This is not the kind of world I wanted to experience when on holiday.
My privacy disturbed by an electrician ‘popping in’
Why could this not be delayed until I checked out? ie half an hour later?
