A clean, comfortable, and very convenient stay in Kyoto with excellent value for money.
Pros:

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a very convenient location. The staff were helpful, and overall it offered very good value for money.

Cons:

Nothing major. The facilities were fairly simple, but everything worked well for a short stay.

朝食は15-20分並んで入ったが、他施設と比べると食べるもの(種類、残量含め)が少なく、補充もされていないものも多く、すこし残念だった

A stylish, convenient, affordable stay
Pros:

I like ibis Styles Kyoto Shijo because it's affordable, the location is terrific, and it's super affordable. The rooms are small, but also clean and comfortable. And I liked the general vibe of the place. I don't tend to spend much time at the hotel when I'm in Kyoto, so this suited me. It was a little trickier for my yoga practicing partner.

I liked having so many attractions close-by, as well as the subway, Randen Line, and Kyoto Station. And the Fresco grocery, FamilyMart, and MOS Burger were food great options.

Cons:

While most of the service I received was really good, some of the staff could have been friendlier. In fact, it really pleasant was back in 2019 when it was a Hotel Unizo.

Excellent, comfortable and familiar stay in a fantastic central and convenient location.
Pros:

The primary two benefits of this hotel are its location - very easily accessible from Shijo-Karasuma station on the Karasuma subway line and Hankyu Kyoto train line, right in the middle of one of the city's main high street areas - and the familiarity and comfort of the Ibis brand name. The staff were very cordial and the room very clean and comfortable as I have come to expect from Ibis. In addition, the 24/7 self-service laundry machines were very welcome, and were easy and convenient to use. I speak Japanese so cannot confirm this, but as far as I could tell from other travellers' interactions, all the front desk staff seemed very comfortable with English and all sorts of requests were handled quickly and cordially.

Cons:

It did not bother me particularly, but some visitors may be surprised at the relatively small room size compared to other Ibis and Ibis Styles locations. I was a solo traveller in a double bed room, and for me the space was fine, but for a couple in the same room it may feel a bit cramped.
