Pros:

The staff were very friendly.

Cons:

The hole hotel was shabby, with threadbare carpets, worn out chairs, and not very clean.
The bathroom was very poorly decorated, and I could only get either a boiling hot or cold shower.
The windows were dirty, and the carpets too.
Too expensive for the poor facilities.

Lovely comfortable night but believe it’s over priced for what’s on offer
Pros:

Extremely local to the event we went to. Lovely size room and clean. Amazing bed for comfort and size. Nice staff.

Friendly staff. Good quality of meals. Car parking at rear of hotel.

Cons:

Room is in need of renovation. Shower hose needs replacing. It's kinked at the bottom and when lifted off hook the water stops. Impossible to not get either really hot water or cold. Window frame rotten. Door knob loose. Carpet stained. En suite very small.

There was no dairy alternative on request. Despite it being made known at breakfast on the first morning.
This continued for a further 2 mornings.

Excellent staff out do the state of the building.
Pros:

The comfort of the bed was very good and the size of the room acceptable. The bathroom was also a good size and had a bath and separate shower. The dinner in the bar/restaurant was reasonably good value and the breakfast was good value considering it was included in the room price. The staff were excellent, being friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel relevant to the town was excellent, being a short walking distance to everything the town had to offer. It was also a good base from other attractions within the area.

Cons:

Well, Best Western needs to spend an absolute fortune to get the building up to scratch. It is obviously an old building but it has been left so long that it requires a major refurbishment, not only in redecorating, but the whole infrastructure. The poor staff (who are SO professional) seem almost embarrassed to be working there and do a sterling job in remaining as positive as possible regarding the state of the hotel. Also, from a personal experience, I was in a room that had a macerating toilet in the bathroom which, whenever any water was used (bath/shower/wash basin/toilet) constantly "macerated" on a regular basis every few minutes. Worried that it was going to disturb my sleep, I used the facilities downstairs before I settled down for the night rather than risk the noise of the toilet before the system sorted itself out and stopped being so noisy. I don't think this was an acceptable situation. Regarding noise overall, because the building is so old, footsteps, doors closing, floors creaking are all prevalent noises that can and do disturb the comfort of a stay.

Convenient location
Pros:

Convenient town centre location. Plenty of parking.

Cons:

Was a little tired on the decor in the room. I had a chair with faux leather, that was all peeling off in little pieces, and leaving a mess every time that I sat in it.
