Staff was very friendly and attentive. The room was ready an hour earlier than guaranteed (2 PM versus 3 PM). Bar/restaurant in lobby was good.
Way overpriced for what it is. We had stayed at two Melia properties in Spain, and while those were Gran Melias, this was just not up to our expectations, particularly for how much they cost (inclusive of taxes and fees). We also upgraded to have a room on the 18th floor with an outdoor seating area, which was fine, but it was right under the gym and people were dropping weights today starting at 530 AM.
Due to a flight cancelation, we ordered a room online. When we arrived at the hotel, the front dedk told us that there was a problem with their system and there are actually no rooms available. They didn’t offer any assistance in finding alternative accommodation and when we asked for help they refused.

Great location! Very clean, staff helpful and cheerful we stayed 6 nights and we loved it
We didn’t like at all the fact that there were no connections between hotel and restaurant that it was not the same company and if you forget your ticket for breakfast you better find it!!
The hotel has a very nice terrasse to meet with your groupe but the bar doesn’t serve you there toooo bad.
Loved all of the included bottled water/coffee during the stay. Super important with so much walking around during a hot summer weekend. The gym was also well stocked and the shower soaps were lovely. Really great central location as well, just a block away from the subway. The staff was all incredibly kind and we were impressed by how quick the baggage check was handled.
There was a particular perfume smell to the lobby that we weren't a huge fan of but it was only in the lobby.
Great location, room was clean, free water/soft drinks in the mini fridge, staff were friendly, stored bags for us, overall it's really good value for money and a perfect place to crash after long days exploring new york - highly recommend!
