The location

Cons:

The room’s carpet had an overpowering smell that was difficult to ignore. To combat this, I brought in my car’s scent diffuser and sprayed some car odor neutralizer to change the room’s scent. However, to make matters worse, the fire alarm went off (it was a false alarm), and the front desk wouldn’t pick up the phone. (At other hotels, at least they would pick up the phone to inform you that it was a false alarm.)

You get what you pay for
Pros:

This is a budget hotel chain. That is what you pay for and that is what you get. With that out of the way there were pros and cons. The room was clean and in good condition, except the A/C had a mind of its own, which is not great when you are in the middle of the hottest summer in a while. The public areas seemed to be suffering from the same issues with A/C. It does have a gym that although has old equipment was more than I expected for this property. The breakfast was very basic, but its free so no complaints. There is never anybody at the front desk, you always have to go find someone, which is not great. We had no issues with noise level. We did get hit with an unexpected $5/night parking fee, which is just a way to annoy people. Add the darn $5 to the room rate instead of going for the nickle and dimming crap that the industry is sinking into. Its $5, who cares? Just add it to the room rate! Also, there is no housekeeping during our stay as is stated in the room.
There are not many choices in Dunnellon, so if you need a place to stay I would not say don't stay there, but we aware, you are getting what you pay for, nothing more.
