Lovely for a family wedding
Liked everything and a nice location
quiet
food ok but not exceptionall
Lovely location hotel, good EV charging. Ate at the local pub which was excellent.
It was so hot! Unfortunately, the hotel didn't have the foresight to open the windows before our arrival. It was like staying in an oven. We only found the fan hidden in the cupboard the morning after we had stayed. Bed had hard springs. The building was tired internally, and decor was needed.
The location
It felt soulless
Very minimal atmosphere
Everything felt “mean”. A beautiful building with minimum effort put into feeling cared for / comfortable.
It was a heat wave and we were placed in a room which hadn’t had the windows opened- no fan - dangerously hot!
When I went to ask for a fan I was told there was one in the room - there wasn’t
We were then told by the night staff it was relative!!!! He lived in a bedsit - we were paying guests in a hotel - not relative at all!!!
We had booked another twin room for more guests the following night … if we could have left we would have !
The price we had paid for the rooms was not reflective of the amenities and the service.
We were grudgingly given the office fan and told to return it in the morning
The next morning we were provided with a fan
This place really needs staff management and some serious love poured into it- it suffers - as a beautiful building which rates less than a travel lodge
A real shame
Left a very bad taste and the excessive heat made us ill
The standard of cleaning is poor ( look at doors and skirting boards)
I could go on - but no point
Lovely grounds. Some good places to relax. Huge comfortable bed. Breakfast ok
Long walk to room
Peaceful location, with wonderful views and lovely old buildings
Nice views and surroundings and nearby pub
Old building slight foul smell at entrance but seems to being dealt with when left
Stillheten , historie.
Tilgjengelig, dårlig ang taxi og bestilling . Dårlig sisterne på toalett
Beautiful motel in a very enchanting location
Cosy vintage hotel vibes with sloping floors, old carpets and yellow walls. Bed was small, springy and uncomfortable and the pillows were so flat it was difficult to sleep. The shower had no water pressure at all. The tv was tiny and picture quality was awful. However the rest of the room was nice and the staff all friendly and helpful. I paid £130 for a room 6 months in advance which seemed terrible value for money.
