Goed hotel maar niet in de zomer
Pros:

Alles was goed aan het hotel: ruime badkamer en kamer, lekkere douche.

Cons:

De kamer was enorm warm. Ook al was het buiten maar 16 graden. Er was maar een klein raampje en een ventilator wat niet erg helpt. De warmte was echt onaangenaam. Vooral ‘‘s nachts.

Now is a third time to stay at this hotel in August 2026 and all gets ruined for a third time alread
Pros:

The breakfast is good but that member of waiting staff Lindsay does not not like being their as I have overhead for a third time huffing

Cons:

I got constantly verbally attacked by another female customer guest who had it in for me as soon as I had got in to to the lobby of that Hotel in Penrith Cumbria from me travelling in a train and before me travelling in a a bus

Pros:

Car Park difficult to find. One of the rooms had a ceiling window with no blind and was noisy with the rain. No other outside window. Other room overlooked the street and was adequate and comfortable

Wonderful Penrith
Pros:

Staff so helpful and friendly. Gave us great tips on what to see and do whilst in Penrith and surrounds. We would happily recommend The Lounge Bar Hotel to anyone looking to stay in this area. The breakfasts were excellent too. Nothing to find fault with at all.

A hospitality venue should make it clear they have a draconian policy regarding smokers and make it clear at the booking
Pros:

The room was good, large bathroom and included a bath. The breakfast was excellent and in general the staff were very nice and welcoming

Cons:

The food menu for meals wasn’t great(nothing with veg apart from peas. The hotel should advertise as a completely non smoking venue and this could be a selling point for them. They have a outside area within the premises that is no smoking or vaping and an area in an alley with cigarette dispenser but when we used this area we were very rudely told that this was for staff only. To smoke you had to go out in the Main Street. They put 2 small tables and 4 chairs out during the day between about 9am and 8 pm and no shelter if it rained. It is fine to have a non smoking venue but this should be advertised. They should have signs up in the staff smoking area saying it is for staff only as this would save the total embarrassment of being told off. We are not heavy smokers but if they want a non smoking venue then this should be advertised as such. It also is not good for them to have the smoking area at the front entrance as this must be very off putting for non smokers. It’s up to the venue to decide their smoking policy but this should be clearly advertised. They want the business but I feel they should be up front about their intolerance to smokers. I have never stayed in such a place where they do not make everyone welcome. I will review them on trip adviser so others are aware
