Slechtste hotel van mijn leven.
Pros:

Het personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam.
Het hotel ligt dicht bij de luchthaven en de Blue Lagoon

Cons:

De matras was heel slecht.
Er staat een fabriek naast het hotel, die heel de nacht lawaai maakt.
De kamers kunnen niet goed verduisterd worden.
We hebben niet geslapen.
Ik ben al veel op reis geweest en dit is het slechtste hotel van mijn leven, omdat de prijs zo hoog is tegenover de kwaliteit.

Cons:

The power plant beside the hotel and not hidden. No mirrors in the one room. The black out curtains could be more efficient. More pillows. A safe. Map showing local hot spots.

Dieses Hotel war für uns eine Enttäuschung ohne jeglichem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.
Pros:

Die Nähe zur Blauen Lagune. Diese ist aber vernachlässigbar, wenn man selbst mit dem Auto unterwegs ist. Es gibt weitere, wohl günstigere Hotels in der Stadt Grindavik (ca. 5-10 min von Blauer Lagune mit dem Auto entfernt). Das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit.

Cons:

Das Hotel und dessen Zimmer scheinen in die Jahre gekommen zu sein. Das Zimmer ist spärlich und lieblos eingerichtet und besitzt den Charakter eines Krankenhauszimmers. Daher ist für uns kein Wohlfühlfaktor aufgekommen. Durch die Nähe zu einem Geothermiekraftwerk herrscht eine ständige Geräuschkulisse sowie gelegentlich ein schwefelartiger Geruch, auch ohne zu lüften. Zudem sind die Fenster undicht, die Matratze durchgelegen, Türen abgeschlagen und der Abfluss des Waschbeckens war teils verstopft (minutenlanges Abrinnen). Das Zimmer verfügt über keinen Kühlschrank, der in vergleichbaren Hotels dieser Kategorie in Island stets vorhanden war. Auch das Frühstück war schwächer als in vergleichbaren Hotels. Dies steht alles nicht in Relation zum Übernachtungspreis von über 400€, welcher nicht einmal den Spa- und Fitness-Bereich für ein Standardzimmer inkludiert. Die Lage allein rechtfertigt nicht den auch für isländische Verhältnisse hohen Preis. Daher können wir dieses Hotel nicht empfehlen.

A restful stay in a very friendly and comfortable inn.
Pros:

Spacious airy room. Comfortable bed. Very friendly service. Restaurant was very good. Impeccably clean. Free shuttle to/from the Blue Lagoon. Close to the Blue Lagoon and to Keflavík airport. Very relaxing feeling. Would definitely stay here again.

Cons:

Not inexpensive, but then again, this is Iceland where things are not cheap!

Pros:

We stayed here for one night after visiting the Blue Lagoons. This hotel is a 2 minute drive from the Blue lagoons parking lot and 20 minutes from the International Airport. The breakfast was quite a spread and delicious.

Pros:

Para mí es un 5 estrellas por la enorme amabilidad del personal, las instalaciones tan bien cuidadas, el cariño que le trasladan a cada cliente y la ubicación tan peculiar y a la vez increíble en la que se encuentra.

Tanto el personal de recepción como del restaurante fueron muy amables con nosotros e incluso cuidaron muy bien mi alimentos para que fueran 100% sin gluten y seguros para celíacos.

Las habitaciones y todas las instalaciones del hotel están en perfecto estado, son muy cómodas y tienen todo lo necesario.

Con respecto a la ubicación, destaco la cercanía a Keflavík y a Blue Lagoon pero también destaco algo que al principio me impresionaba, ver una central eléctrica de geotermia tan cerca del hotel pero si investigas la historia y la vida en un lugar tan inhóspito no le das mayor importancia, al contrario, aprecias la resiliencia de la zona.

Lo recomiendo al 100%.

Pros:

Staff were nice and friendly. Pretty good if you’re looking to stay near the blue lagoon

Cons:

The thermostat control is not in the rooms. It was too hot and the temperature could not be changed. Even after request the temperature could not be lowered significantly.

Team and food a winner!
Pros:

Fabio on reception was very helpful and drove the shuttle to take us to the Blue Lagoon next door. Restaurant experience was great, food and service.

Cons:

The style, ‘look and feel’ of the menu really did not sell the food. We were delighted with the food when it arrived. A small touch to upgrade the look of the menu, as comes across as not important…..
The location is right next to the power station and we were not prepared for that, however once we got past that, out stay was acceptable.

Gutes Hotel in Lagerfelder mit einem Hauch von Schwefel
Pros:

Das Personal war äusserst freundlich und auch das Essen war richtig lecker und das immer 4 Minuten mit dem Auto zu der Blue Lagoon

Cons:

Steht in Lavafeldern und halt das Schwefelgeschmack muss einen Bewusstsein aber andere Unterkunft selber kann man gar nichts sagen
