Staff were lovely
Pros:

Room was spectacular for a younger couple . 4 poster bed , jacuzzi bath . My husband is disabled so beautiful but impractical .

Cons:

Stairs to climb . Banister covered with wee fairy lights so made the climb for my husband very awkward.

Pros:

We stayed for a wedding and it was wonderful. The hall is not massive, but that just made it intimate. It still managed to be grand inside, and the grounds are really beautiful all in flower. Food was very tasty, service abit slow at dinner, both other than that couldn't fault it. Staff very attentive. Good parking.

Rustic, historic and truly memorable
Pros:

We had a 1 night stay here as we were fortunate enough to be gusts at a wedding venue nearby. Momentous occasion for myself therefore the excitement levels were hard to contain. Well folks, what can I say? I was extremely pleased with this hotel. The chap at the reception showed exceptional customer service to check us in and personally take us to our room. The room was clean, spacious and the bed was comfortable. A win for me. The breakfast the following morning by was great, an array of choices both hot and cold. The grounds were well kept and the location was not far from Carlisle. I tremendous stay. I’ll be back
