Fab country pub with great food. Handy triple rooms, set dinners, comfy side rooms
Pros:

Love the location, food, charm, great pub with rooms

Cons:

The dogs! I had a dog barking in the room above me all night and then when I left the room to go to breakfast had to step over a massive pile of dog mess. The staff seemed reluctant to challenge the owner which I thought was really bad. If you’re going to allow dogs staff need to be really clear what the rules are.

A really lovely evening spent at the hotel, thanks.
Pros:

The location is outstanding for walkers and countryside enthusiasts alike with direct access to some of the finest walking that the Lake District has to offer, especially Scafell Pike.
Service was super friendly and fantastic breakfast. Stupidly, we left a large bag of board games in the main lounge. The hotel kindly retrieved these and looked after them until we could get them collected - many thanks.

Een heel mooi hotel midden in de Lakes, Prachtige ligging. Hele mooie kamers, prima uitgerust en een fijne douche.
Het ontbijt was heel goed en lekker. Het diner was fantastisch. Een plek om nog eens terug te komen.

Sehr freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal, gut organisiert, klare Informationen bereits im Vorfeld, für das Nachtessen stehen 1 Zwei- oder Dreigangmenü zur Auswahl mit je 3 Wahlmöglichkeiten pro Gang, Reservation empfohlen, kann sehr empfohlen werden. Zimmer mit Blick auf Fluss, sauber und angenehme Grösse. Sehr gutes Frühstück im Preis inbegriffen mit richtig gutem Kaffee!!!

The staff were very nice. The location was extremely quiet and green. It was truly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.

Not very clean, dirty cups in bathroom. Full of dust on top of surfaces, hairs in and on bed. Floor not being hoovered. Just lacking general cleanliness.

It was great for wedding weekend.
Pros:

Breakfast good. Bed comfort. Shower powerful. Excellent location.

Cons:

Dinners. Windows that didn’t work properly. Aircon? Would have liked blinds or canopy at windows in dining and breakfast areas.

Terrible. Paid for two nights and left after the first night.
Pros:

Located in a wonderful area.

Cons:

You can’t eat outside if the weather is good, they are not dog friendly although they advertise that they are. Not willing to make any changes to suit your needs.
