Wunderbarer Aufenhalt, man fühlt sich auch als Wanderer absolut willkommen!
Pros:

Sehr schöne, authentische Unterkunft, sehr nettes Personal und wunderbares, schön angerichtetes und feines Abendessen. Auch Frühstück sehr leckeres mit frischen Zutaten.

We chose this hotel for its location at the end of the Borrowdale valley
Pros:

Beautiful location with walls direct from front door. Excellent breakfast. Very willing staff.

Cons:

No TV. Dinner good was overly clever. Room servicing was erratic.

Location good, food excellent, staff good, and rooms very nice.

Cons:

I wanted a clean hand towel change, so in the morning I left it in the shower and the bath towel and shower mat on the towel rail, but on return in the evening the hand towel was still in the shower wet and not changed.
Also the tea bags used were not replenished, and there was no complementary water in the room which seems the normal nowadays. Only little things which didn’t spoil our stay, but could easily have been done.

High praise for Royal Oak Hotel
Pros:

The bathroom had lots of hot water and great water pressure for showers and tubs. They served us scones in the afternoon and tea and coffee was always available in the dining area. The rooms were very comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful.

Cons:

The dinner was way too expensive and they didn't have any smaller or less expensive dinner options.

The place was luxury beyond expectations. I had no idea upon booking how nice clean and upmarket it would be. The staff were exceptional and the food was high quality

Perfect hotel in the Lake District
Pros:

Second stay here and the welcome is always warm. The room was clean and very comfortable. The food was excellent, and the packed lunch was delicious after a tough mornings hiking. Lovely place to stay in the Lake District.

Pros:

Werkelijk fantastische accommodatie. Alles, van ontvangst, tot avondeten, tot het personeel, tot de kamers, tot het ontbijt, tot de "packed lunch". Alles was echt top! Als we terug naar de Lake District komen , dan zullen we de route plannen zodat we hier weer kunnen gaan slapen!

Ein schönes Hotel mit schönem und sauberem Zimmer.
Ein gutes Hotelzimmer nach einem langen Wandertag.
Frühstück lecker.

Cons:

Leider war die Heizung aus und das Zimmer sehr kalt. Auf Anfrage hiess es, dass die Heizungen erst am Abend laufen.
Restaurant okay, aber für Angebot eher teuer. Haben in der Region besser und gehobener gegessen für weniger Geld. Servicepersonal zwar bemüht aber eher distanziert.

Wenn man auf Booking bucht zahlt man bis zu 35 Pounds mehr pro Zimmer und fürs essen gibts auch einen Aufschlag.
