Was a good day and slept well. Breakfast was good too. Staff very helpful.
Pros:

Breakfast was good, the room was comfortable, but I thought it was overpriced for one night. We where guests at a wedding.

Excellent stay
Pros:

Stayed one night whilst attending a funeral. The hotel were very accommodating providing us with one of our two rooms by 11.30am so we could get changed and relax after our long journey before the funeral. My son and I had a twin ground floor room which was spotlessly clean, had everything we needed and loved the walk in shower. After the funeral, we came back to the hotel (12 people) for afternoon tea which was spot on and nice to sit in the cool veranda. Good quiet nights sleep. Only thing missing from the room was an information sheet with meal times etc. Breakfast staff extremely friendly and good menu, didn't like the flat sausage, sloppy scrambled egg and no has browns. However, the haggis was delicious and appreciate it was a traditional Scottish breakfast. Excellent staff who couldn't do enough for us. Massive car park. Good location for town centre. Would stay again.

Lovely hotel with great staff
Pros:

Staff are super friendly and the bedrooms are very spacious.

Cons:

Toilet seat was too small for the toilet with a gap of about 10cm from seat to front of toilet, which was quite strange.

Quite the find - would definitely stay again/ make a detour for that steak.
Pros:

Having read other reviews, I made sure before I booked that there were no weddings / similar celebration events booked the same day / night (Thursday) and asked for a quiet room, which the staff kindly obliged with.
The room was quiet and cool - exactly what I needed.
The steak frites I ordered in the evening was excellent. One of the best steak meals I've had - ever. I'd detour cross-country off the M74 to eat that again. Gorgeous. Great cooking.
The full Scottish breakfast included in the room rate was very good and plentiful too. Quality ingredients (incl haggis and Lorne from Campbells of Linlithgow).
Loads of free parking too. Getting there - just watch out with the satnav directions - the hotel is directly accessible from the main road (Hamilton Road) - don't let it take you up Overton Road which is a residential area only and no access to the hotel.
Strathaven Hotel is quite the find from my perspective. The B&B rate I paid for my single room was simply great value for money.
If you're heading up to the Highlands via Loch Lomond and need to break the journey, but want a quality overnighter in a nice area, then - barring potential big celebration events happening at the hotel on the day/ night - I'd say it's very much worth the slight detour off the M74 to Strathaven. The town itself is also very pretty. You'll also find there are other ways to get to Erskine Bridge !!!

Cons:

Cosmetic stuff in the room: Bit odd that there was no loo roll holder in the bathroom and the desk looked tired and needed some attention. Very minor things really though - everything else in the room was mainly very good.
Food: Wasn't convinced by the torched mackerel starter. I'd order something else next time.
