Lovely building and food but don't go in the summer as the lack of air conditioning is not great.
Pros:

The location was pristine with a beautiful garden and the bar and restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was top tier with the sausages being a standout.

Cons:

The rooms are not air conditioned and it was like trying to sleep in an oven. All we were provided was a a small fan which did nothing but push the warm air around.

Great stay, hotel needs updating
Pros:

The hotel has some good points and bad, staff are wonderful, great location but a good 20min walk into town, lovely pub opposite! The breakfast was great but the sitting room and bar needs a serious update very dark and old fashioned.

Cons:

Our beds were far too small, I am slight build, and my friend very small but the beds in our twin room were for children, soo short and thin, luckily we didn't fall out of the bed! The room size was good so plenty of room for bigger beds.

VERY GOOD VALUE, WOULD DEFINITELY STAY AGAIN,
Pros:

Comfortable room, nice and clean, adequate shower with lots of hot water, good TV, tea and coffee etc. plenty of parking as we had a large van, nice grounds, staff were all very pleasant and the breakfast was very good. Excellent value for money,

Cons:

Just felt the hotel looked a little tired and that the outside areas could have been better maintained ie weeded and the lovely planter pots planted up with some summer bedding which would have enhanced it greatly. Minor points really as the overall experience was very good.

Disappointing
Pros:

Good location

Cons:

Room (supposed to have been a 'superior'!!) was poor and hot weather made it unbearable. A small fan was not good enough.

Excellent location, dog friendly and value for money.
Pros:

Excellent location, dog friendly. Cookies on arrival and sweets in a jar in room, very nice touch.

Cons:

Could have done with an outside door mat, as leaves and bits came trailing inside, and I like to walk barefoot in the room!

Pros:

Convenient location.
Nice size room with good ensuite facilities.

Cons:

Automated check in and out. I would have liked to have seen a person at the front desk.
If I hadn't had breakfast I would not have spoken to anyone at the hotel

Nicely situated hotel that’s doing its best but could do with some tlc.
Pros:

Surrounded by large attractive gardens and conveniently situated for the town and for transport links. Welcoming, friendly staff. Attractive original building. It was good to have a fan provided in the room as it was a hot day.

Cons:

Classic room was nicely situated in the garden but was in need of a refurbishment, particularly in terms of curtains and windows. The bathroom, although clean and looked like a new shower and screen had been put in, would have benefitted from upgrading.
