Welcoming staff, quirky old building in attractive grounds with countryside views. Comfortable room with air conditioning which was wonderful on a 35C day. Ideally positioned for a stopover on the A1. Excellent breakfast with good choice and proper fresh fruit salad.

Beautiful historic property set in grounds surrounded by open countryside. All of the staff are friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are comfortable all having air conditioning which has been a godsend with recent weather. Food in the restaurant is well thought out, and a great selection catering for all.
Can’t think of anything that I didn’t or don’t like about this hotel.

Impossible I loved everything
Lovely room clean and tidy and the staff were very nice also the breakfast was really good
Location was beautiful, lots of garden space for the wedding. As we were guests for a wedding it was great to stay the two nights and not have to worry about transport etc
Pizza was very tasty.

The decor was a little tired in places.
It was a bit confusing getting around in the hotel - signage for breakfast etc.
breakfast - long waits for food to be restocked and toasters took an age to put any colour in the bread, even when turned up. Would have liked more egg options too.
Room - our bed in room 8 was extremely hard and uncomfortable - hotel was fully booked so unable to rectify this. Bottled water in the rooms would have been a nice touch since it was summer and very hot.
It was quite expensive for the two nights stay when the bed wasn’t very comfortable.
Exceptional nights sleep, very comfy bed, spacious and clean. Good value for money. Would definitely recommend.

The only complaint was that the single beds were really hard - not a comfortable nights sleep !
