Lovely building and excellent staff bar was slow no one available to serve us , twice but overall great place
The staff, the views, the walks. Lovely room, stylishly decorated and comfy. Ambiance, service and food at Brasserie and breakfast was great.
The hotel was very dog friendly, and recommended good local walks for us with our dog. Overall excellent experience. We will be back!.
The bathroom was very tight, and tricky to get out of bath/shower.
The historical lounge area with the antlers displayed. Homemade flapjack in the room was absolutely delicious. Though it was nothing special I found the pancakes and cheese selection in the breakfast exceptional
Nothing
We had a lovely stay and will definitely return
All good
Beautiful location and nice staff
Cocktail bar a little old fashioned so elected to have pre dinner drinks outside. May look better in the winter when sofas might look more appealing but maybe it’s in need of a refresh.
As bedroom was ground floor could have done with some gauze curtains so wasn’t possible to look into room from outside. Did have to get dressed and undressed in the bathroom as couldn’t in the room (closing main curtains in the morning to get dressed in the dark or with lights on is not usual).
Parma ham is not customary on Eggs Benedict, maybe call it something else! Would have made a different choice if I’d known and there was lots of choice at breakfast.
A great experience from the time we were checked in to departure
Location
Trying to add on all sorts of additional charges, slow service in breakfast all 3 days
Location - Great! Lovely views. Early morning curlews! Large grassed areas.
Nothing
We loved everything… wonderful surroundings, beautiful decor, fantastic spa experience, quality food, amazing staff, peace and tranquility…
Nothing to dislike…
Breakfast was good but tables wiped down, for crumbs where just throne on floor sadly
Getting up from the table, for some of your breakfast, prefer to be served your whole breakfast at the table, where your sat.
Staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.
Nothing
The staff were pleasant and helpful and the room was comfortable.
The main restaurant was closed ( for the whole month I think ) so the only eating was in The Brasserie where the menu is quite limited if staying more than a couple of days or if anyone in the party has food intolerances/allergies.
My wife is partially disabled and was unable to use the in bath shower.
had room service
We were in room 22, approximately 11 pm there was a lot of shouting from one of the rooms across the road, a couple was arguing quite severely, we eventually had to call night management around 1:30 am. Which completely disturbed our evening.
Comfortable rooms. Good food.
Customer service from reception staff. We arrived to be told we couldn’t eat in the restaurant which was fully booked. We were left with the option of eating in our room. This was disappointing given no one contacted us in advance to see if we wanted a table, though they said that was what they did. Whilst the one receptionist told us this, the other two ignored us. I complained as we weren’t happy to eat a £100 meal in our room. The receptionist then told me she would raise it with the restaurant manager and call us back. The restaurant manager rang us and told us we could eat in the restaurant whenever we wanted. During our meal there were four tables not taken. The three receptionists we met on our first day were unfriendly. It’s an expensive hotel and the poor service will stop us spending more money there.
The location is surrounded by absolutely the most stunning scenery
The service in the brassier restaurant was poor. The food was great, however the service was extremely disappointing
