Great standard of accommodation. Good value. Lots of nearby places to visit .
Pros:

Excellent value for money, for a smart ,comfortable, well furnished room including breakfast too ! Everything we needed. View over the courtyard to a glimpse of fields at the back. Friendly lady on reception. Good having the restaurant on site which had some reasonable prices. Good location for visiting lots of interesting places -Berkeley ( Jenners museum and the Castle ) and lovely walks all along the River Severn eg Oldbury on Severn, along the Sharpness canal , the ship graveyard near Purton , Frampton, Arlingham and further north. Slimbridge Wildlife reserve is only 9 miles away.

Cons:

Room was warm, but then everywhere is during these heatwaves .

Don’t stay in a heatwave. Probably alright in winter

Not happy, too hot, no air con. Don't keep to promises.

The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, the breakfast was good.

Cons:

No are conditioning in the room, so couldn't sleep because it was too hot even with a fan on all night.
We asked for a downstairs room and received a message from the hotel saying that this had been allocated. When we arrived we were given a room on the first floor, not happy as my husband has mobility issues. We won't be staying at this hotel again.

Pros:

Friendly staff, good bar didn’t have opportunity to eat there but looked good with a fair value menu being as it’s Marco’s.

Cons:

We stayed here to attend a wedding at Tortworth Court, as it’s just 2 miles away, so cheap taxis to and from, but that’s not the case I was quoted £30 each way by a long cal taxi company, £26 by another, we ordered an uber which cost £19 to and £3.99 from god knows how uber pricing works.
Of course none of this is the hotels fault, but thought it may be useful knowledge for anyone using for Tortworth.
To Hotel a courtesy bus with a nominal fee say £5.00 could be a nice little earner.

Cons:

The room was given to us not cleaned from the previous guest. I complained to reception was told that the room had been cleaned when clearly not. The bed had not been made, dirty towels left in the bathroom and a cup in the bathroom sink. Reception sent a cleaner to check the room and the cleaner agreed the room HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED. We had to sit in the restaurant and wait for the room to be cleaned annoyed as we paid for early arrival. Also suggest you get some type of Aircon or fans the sweat was dripping off me as too hot and uncomfortable in the restaurant meals are not cheap therefore would appreciated some comfort.
