Friendly enough staff, didn’t talk much but friendly enough
Room absolutely stank, breakfast was less than bare minimum, really run down rooms
Good location to visit everything.
The hotel is next to a busy junction with cars going past the window 24/7. The car park is full of pot holes. Our room was dirty and in need of an update, the wood on the windows was crumbling too. We had no towels and everything was generally tired looking and dirty. Our room was very dark too with only two lights. Breakfast is just a continental one, but was okay.
It was easy to find with plenty of parking across the road.
Room was a good size but in disrepair, broken window taped up, stains on carpets, hot tap at wash basin not working.
Didn't get much sleep as the windows are single glazed and broken and the hotel is at the crossroads of 2 very busy roads all day and night so was kept awake by traffic noise. Bed has old style sprung mattress so every time someone moves it makes loud noises. Room didn't have a couch in as described just a chair and a weird bench at foot of bed. Paint peeling off under window and needs touching up in other places. It's such a shame as this hotel is in a great location and with a bit of attention would be great. No option for meals except breakfast as described which consists of cereal, toast, crumpets, longlife cheap croissants, yogurt, tea, coffee and juice.

Arriving late meant that staff were not there to check me in. The hotel very kindly left me instructions and the key in an advised place. Thank you and this meant getting to my room in the early hours of the morning was simple enough.
The accommodation was not as expected. i partly believe this is due to legacy pictures on the website. I have no doubt the hotel was nice and could be nice again, but it feels and looks like there has been no investment in years, very much neglected. Whilst I appreciate there will be guests less precious than I on where they sleep, I am disappointed due to where I could have stayed for the same money. The place felt dingy and really not in the best working order. There was a significant amount of fly tipping in the car park. There was the remanence of a plant on the floor at the entrance, that looked to have been ripped from the planter. Shrubs and weeds all over grown to the front of the property.

Rooms only cleaned after 3 days, same with towels (Had to ask receptionfor clean towels). The shower didn't work. Toilet did flush properly. The room had a damp feisty odour. Only served continental breakfasts, which were dire. All in all, very poor.

The cost was what i would pay for a room, this place is not worth half of what i would playThe whole place was run down, rooms needed redecorating and just looked unclean.

Very shabby breakfast not very good appears to only be one member of staff nothing fresh at all dreadful tatty paint work and carpets very rough surface to car park and entrance to hotel
Decor dated carpets stained , odour to the room and a bulb out in side light.
The decor the whole room needs an update and the building and gardens need a lot of work. The photis on booking .com do not reflect it now.
The location was very convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was sufficient.

The staff was helpful and pleasant. The hotel was in easy reach of oxford and bicester. Very pleasant atmosphere. Breakfast was nice and simple. Bed was comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
The hotel needed a bit of TLC ( paintwork,carpets,bathroom)
No running water from the hot tap, broken window over looking main road below, rusty metal windows, broken blind covering another window, rotten wooden windows frame, rusty window latches, peeling paint, dirty carpet, dirty headboard, bottom sheet did not fit the bed, bedside lamp not bright enough to read by, broken door lock on door leading up the stairs to room from the courtyard. The photos on the website do not reflect reality. It was dreadful. It has a 2star AA sign on the wall and a 4star food rating on the reception door. Booking.com really needs to do an inspection and take them off their accommodation listing. I have taken photos to back up this statement.
Friendly staff, lovely old coaching inn a bit tired but very clean and excellent location. Good value for money and complimentary breakfast was a bonus.
Nice stay , stayed last year and still not got kitchen fixed for english breakfast and bar 🤨
