The room was huge, very clean and little extras .
Staff were so friendly. Lovely city and hotel in a great spot.
Loved it that windows opened and a fridge.
Parking costs
Breakfast was excellent. Air Con in room was excellent.
Room a bit small
A place with character in an excellent location. We were there for a function which was well catered for, good food and service.
Room was rather too warm with only a fan to mitigate it. Bed less good than eg Premier Inn.
Some of the staff were helpful, but others weren't particularly interested. The room was scorching due to temperatures. There was an a/c unit in the room, but it wasn't working. We were told that all yhe rooms are in need of the units regassing
Room temperature
Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice, well cooked and staff very helpful and gave their full attention to requests.
The room was really hot. No attempt had been made to open windows wide to cool room before arrival.
A fan had been provided and this was already switched on, but unfortunately this was not effective.
Appreciate it is difficult to ventilate with fire doors and provide security, but the temperature was such that sleep was impossible. It was far hotter inside the hotel than outside.
Great location, friendly staff
It needs updating. Air conditioning decommissioned. Windows painted shut . Mould in bathroom. Tap had to be run in the sink for a long time to get clean water. No fridge. No complimentary water as the room was excessively hot due to the heatwave. Ten pound charge to park car. The room where breakfast was served was far too hot , no open windows or fans ( situation was not addressed ie heatwave) .
Location. Parking OK, but £10 a night is not good value.
Too hot in the bedroom. Air con not effective. TV remote didn’t work and no effective solution offered. No bottled water. Tea and coffee in room very limited.
Very central and very cool in the hot weather
Location
No Aircon worked, the rooms were stifling hot, I cancelled 2nd night.
Everything
Bar and food prices very dear
Always a pleasure to stay here
Nothing
Good location.
Had to pay extra for parking.
Location
Broken air conditioner
Small room
Loud outside space in the courtyard made it impossible to sleep and rest well.
Breakfast was excellent and the location couldn't have been better for access to bars, restaurants and the City Centre
The room was extremely hot
Great location
Air conditioning broken
Tiny bathroom
The traditional ambiance of the hotel and bedroom.
The bed was very comfortable but was in a double format even though I had requested twin format. However we both slept reasonably well despite the heat in the room.
The fact that the sash on the bedroom window was broken and the window only opened 2 inches on a very hot night.the On asking at Reception if one needed to pay extra for air conditioning (there being a unit on the bedroom wall) we were told that it didn’t work.
