Excellent good priced stop over on way to devon.
Dog friendly.
Stunning views.
Amazing lady on reception- huge smile and generous sole.
Basic room was grande for a stop over.
Bar food on the terrace.
The super friendly staff, sunny bar terrace & fabulous view, made our overnight stay very relaxing. Our two labradors were made welcome & spoiled with a National Trust woodland walk in the morning (accessible from the car park). Was able to have a quiet swim in the pool.
Curtains in the room could be a bit thicker to block out early morning (June) light.
It was peaceful and in a beautiful location
The spa opened at 9am which is quite late. The corridors were very noisy early in the morning and the rooms had little sound proofing. Very very hard to have a lie in!
The bambience..the reception staff- acted promptly to assist. It was hot requedted change of room sadly hotel was buisy and was not possible to be changed. And due to wedding was expecting to be in main edwardine building but were allocated annex.
Breakfast was average..could be better for 5 star..
The hall wsy to room was dirty with dog hsir. I was not awsre it was pet friendly. Was locsted on same wing whete there was a dog. Luvckly did not have a reaction to dog fur.
The breakfast choice was limited for a 6 star..should have a variety of healthy ceral, bread and especially local produce.fresh fruit.
The staff are always very friendly and helpful
the cleanliness can sometimes be a little lacking
Beautiful period property in an amazing location. The architecture was amazing.
This property could not in any way, shape, or form deal with the heatwave. The heat in every room of the property was unbearable. No air conditioning anywhere. Very small fans were available at reception for room but they ran out very quickly. This was a Thursday night booking. They were completely understaffed. At dinner the waiter admitted they hadn’t prepared for 75 guests for a Thursday night. At diner my friend ordered the burger on a brioche bun, which was not cheap to say it came with one burnt burger on one burnt bun and nothing else on the bun. This was sent back and friend refused to take risk of having anything else.
We tried to get a taxi or an uber to local restaurant but this was impossible due to hotel location.
Breakfast was nice.
Room was tiny, small bed for a double, no air conditioning in room so had to sleep with windows open over the courtyard where smokers were talking into the small hours as the football had been on. Loud generator was making a noise all night & walls were that thin I could hear the people upstairs having a wee on their toilet!
Reception staff friendly efficient and helpful
Plates werent cleared in breakfast room
Very nice place. Spa facilities were a bonus. Ideal location for us as we were hiking the Mendip Way and the hotel is right on the trail. Very pleasant bedroom, public areas, bar and restaurant.
Nothing.
Room had lovely view of the trees at front of hotel.
Taking luggage up to room was a struggle for me. We wasnt asked if we needed any help with cases. And we happened to be staying there during the heatwave. The room was very warm but we made the best of it. When we left I mentioned the lack of fans for the rooms and was told I should have asked as they did have fans if requested. No one told us!
