Pros:

Location was excellent, and so was breakfast. Room was on the top floor at the rear, so there was no traffic noise and no noise from other guests.

Cons:

It was very warm and although there were fans they didn't really cool the room. We had to have the windows open and that meant we could hear conversation in the outside area of the bar below.

True Christmas Cheer
Pros:

Didn't stay here but had a light lunch which was excellent. Had a glass of champagne & a Lyonnaise potato starter (+a green side salad) that was sublime. Will be back for more when next in area.

Pros:

Location, great breakfast and free carpark

Cons:

We arrived early but told couldn't check in until 3pm, that was fine. When we returned at 4pm the room allocated to us was no longer available as apparently there was something wrong with it! We were offered a downgrade with money refuded orca free upgrade which wf opted for. This room was on the top floor and was like an oven. The windows opened to the busy street with loud boy racer type cars driving past most of the night. Two very hot uncomfortable nights, I know it was a heat wave and fans were provided but still not enough really.

Beautiful Old Hotel in a great Location and with loads of Atmosphere
Pros:

Great location. Has some parking of its own. Well renovated and to a high standard. We had a room in the original stables, later a shop. Great bedroom lamps - like paraffin lamps from times gone past. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was ideal with a fair range of cereals, croissant, etc. Our evening meal was less than perfect as we ordered the Beef Wellington shared for two. Excellent meat in huge slices, not so the pastry or gravy.

Incomplete set up of breakfast. For example had to ask for water, knife and fork etc . It's as though no one was in control overall keeping an eye on things

Lovely hotel
Pros:

Lovely hotel and perfect location for shops and pubs and restaurants, all staff lovely and very welcoming

Cons:

Only complaint would be we had a room on the front of the hotel and road can get very busy and noisy and Friday night some idiot decided to race up and down the street numerous times sounds a bit like a race track at night time
