Location was good for our stay.
The property is not well maintained. The cleanliness of our room was sub standard. Poor communication about maid service. Breakfast was okay but coffee was either almost out or cold at the start of their service hours. I thought Fairfield Inns were supposed to be nice. We paid a high rate over labor day weekend for very little value and ended up checking out a day early. We had an issue with our room that had we discovered it earlier we would have not stayed at all. I was informed that I had to contact Booking.com regarding a request for a refund of one night. Booking.com contacted the hotel and the hotel has yet to respond.
Our stay was great--clean room, clean bathroom, comfortable beds, and cold A/C was a plus! Breakfast was ok, too. Lot's of options to choose from. The location is ideal for visiting the college, downtown San Marcos, or for tubing action. All of this for a great price.
It was quiet. The room was spacious and comfortable.
1 elevator didn't work.
The room we were assigned was not clean, and the restroom was in poor condition with an unpleasant odor. We raised the issue with the front desk, but we were not offered a room change; we were told the hotel was fully occupied, which did not appear to be the case. Housekeeping arrived only after approximately an hour, and despite our concerns, maintained that the room had been cleaned prior to our arrival and suggested that we request a different room if we were dissatisfied.
Additionally, the elevator was out of service during our two-night stay. I had noticed similar complaints in prior reviews, but chose to book the hotel nonetheless. Unfortunately, our experience mirrored those issues, and I would not stay at this property again.
