Disappointing. Less grand sapphire more just sapphire.

Reception staff helpful and allowed us to check in early after our flight difficulties

The lift was broken for the whole of our stay, the carpets thread bare on stairs, breakfast was extremely poor and very little choice and quite poor quality (there was no English breakfast choices) and the juice was basically water
The room itself was sad and in need of restoration… the air con leaked, the windows didn’t open (which to me is unsafe as I’d be stuck if there was a fire outside the room), the furniture was broken and not at all like the photos on the advert… we stayed in executive suite 217 but there was nothing executive/posh about it. The bathroom was dirty and the bath had a hole which had been badly repaired, there was also no taps to fill the bath you had to use the shower which meant it took ages to fill. Broken mirror light and shelving missing.
The paint was patchy on the walls in the bedroom/lounge where parts had been missed. The furniture was mismatched and not at all as depicted in the photos, the sofa was broken and propped up again the wall to hide this. Can’t open the curtains because they were broken. When moved the sofa to try and open a window, it was dirty with hair and dust on the floor. When we highlighted this to the staff they just nodded as if they already knew… especially about the window. The room was very noisy because of the broken window due to all the traffic in the early morning.

We arrive at 6pm, expecting to be able to get food only to be told that due to the large wedding they were not serving food. When asked where we can get food (as the hotel is in an industrial estate) the chap said we could order in, we did not want to eat in our room so we venture out. The lift in the hotel was broken there were takeaway bags and used plates in the hall and a trolley of dirty sheets on the landing in front of the lift. We were told the wedding would finish at 9pm, it finished at 2am, they were really noisy outside and the smell weed through our window was very strong even though there were security guards outside. Security then called our room at 2am and asked us to move our car into the car park. Our car was not blocking anything nor parked on double yellow lines so there was no need to move it or to be woken at 2am! The shower was a dribble and the breakfast was appalling. I then received an email from the hotel saying they were going to charge me for the room key that I left in the express check out box - it hadn't even been checked. I am not sure who is running the hotel but it needs a serious shake up

Very disappointed with the treatment we got… no apologies or desire to make situation better for us throughout the stay.

Location as it was where we attended a wedding

Cons:

Lifts were not working and I had my elderly mother and special needs daughter. Staff were very unsympathetic

Crap waste of money. Premier inn has better facilities.

The mattress was hard .
Pillows were hard .
The advertised coffee machine was a kettle.
The bin and toilet brush was rusty.
And the Aircon didn't work.
The view was air vents .
The breakfast menu was poor . because we had tinned hotdogs.
No scrambled eggs
Or fried eggs .
The apple juice was purple.
There was a wide variety of choice
And the dinner menu consist of pizza or curry.or fish and chips no extras.
It was advertised quite time 10 pm -7pm .
There was still shouting and people messaging about in the hallways at 11pm

Good clean place to stay with friendly staff.
Pros:

Breakfast was good. Lots of choice. The room although a little small was clean and comfortable. Cleaners came in every day and cleaned the room, made my bed and freshened up towels. Location was not close to anything in walking distance but having a carpark was great as I could drive out to get an evening meal in Purley. Staff were really friendly, especially the women on reception, she was so helpful.

Cons:

It would have been nice to have somewhere to hang my clothes rather than on hooks on doors.
