Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego Downtown/Bayfront

Stayed here twice. Once on other Marriott side and once on Residence side. Both times were enjoyable as the location is perfect. Free breakfast is busy but they restock often. Pool and bar outside are nice. Rooms were clean. Lots of laundry machines which took cards. Pricey $5 a load. Staff is friendly. Garage available but also pricey. Will stay here again.

The Residence Inn on Bayfront Court in San Diego, Ca is a nice hotel although two situations influenced my opinion of the hotel. While checking in at 7 pm there was a long line for check in. I did not mind waiting since this is California and there is always a line no matter where you are. What I do mind is the female employee behind the counter who allowed a person to cut the line forcing us to wait longer. When I brought to her attention that there is a line and people have been patiently waiting for a while, she said yeah I can see there is a line with a snotty attitude and continued to allow this man to cut the line. All she had to do was behave in a professional manner and acknowledge the people in the line that she would be with them in just a moment after helping this man with his broken key card. I'm not sure why he was so special since other people in line were waiting due to key card issues as well. She was rude, unprofessional and I waited for the other representative, James, to check us in. James was very nice and managed to repair the damage his co-worker's behavior caused.
We had a nice corner room with a view of the city. Very comfortable bed, spacious with a nice kitchenette. Only concern was the cleanliness of the room. We lifted the bedding and a spider crawled out of the sheets. We quickly stripped the bed, shook out the bedding and re-made the bed. While doing so, my hand touched the picture frames above the bed and clumps of dirt/dust covered my fingers. I checked the rest of the flat surfaces in the room and the cupboard doors in the kitchen were not clean. I think surface cleaning is the amount of effort being put forth at this hotel.
On a positive note, excellent shower and the water was fantastic. The water softening system they are using at this hotel is top notch. Besides the rudeness of one employee and the accumulation of dust in the room, I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Franco was so friendly at check in. He arranged that our room could be on the same floor as our son’s family. We arrived mid afternoon and our room was not ready understandable. Franco offered us water and we enjoyed sitting in the lobby watching the people go by. A short time later, we received a phone call that our room was ready. If Franco saw us in the lobby during our stay he wanted to make sure everything was good.
The breakfast buffet had a wide assortment of delicious cold and hot foods. The lady manager (I can’t recall her name) was so sweet. She stopped our table each day as well as others to check in on how everything is going. Gave great advice on restaurants and sites to see. Her breakfast staff was so friendly and always busy clearing tables and keeping everything well stocked.

Large room in a king bed suite with a small kitchenette area. Front desk staff were welcoming and very helpful. The breakfast restaurant was large with a very good selection of cold and hot.
Guest laundry was a great asset

Ocean view, family-friendly, good breakfast, close to USS Midway, Sea-world, zoo, Balboa park, beautiful view from the 10 and above level. Just loved it.

Está foi a 2a vez que me hospedei , só me hospedo neste hotel porque tem cozinha , mas tudo dentro das acomodações é bem velho, somente as camas que são ótimas !!! Café da manhã é fraco , mas aceitável , alguns recepcionistas são mau humorados , mas tem 2 moças e 1 moço que são ótimos ( Zae, Isa e Franco) , os arredores não é a maravilha como todo Centro de cidade tem tudo de ruim e também tem coisas boas !!!! Limpeza dos dormitórios fica a desejar !!!!

Very clean and accessible hotel.

We came to San Diego for the better weather (we are from Phoenix with temp up to 115 that week). We stayed for 7 days and really enjoyed the cooler weather, the hotel with close proximity to the bay, and all great services provided by the hotel stuff.
Breakfast was very good as well.
