They closed off access to the show on Friday night for a private function. I’m paying top dollar for access to the show, and to enjoy the bar, it is stupid to close it off.
Well staying at Rydges I thought there would be easy acess 24 hours a day which is clearly not the case
Right next to the Ekka
Booked a twin share and the bed was made up as a queen so that wasn’t the best.
During my stay, I witnessed an uncomfortable interaction between the restaurant manager/supervisor and one of the baristas. The restaurant and lobby bar were extremely busy and packed, yet this person was shouting at the barista and telling him that he was too slow.
I get that EKKA times can be stressful, but seeing a manager speak to a staff member that way in front of everyone made me feel very uncomfortable. It created an unpleasant atmosphere and was particularly noticeable because the place was full of customers. I think this interaction was completely unprofessional and there's no excuse to treat your staff like that. Personally, I'd consider staying here again.

Neat and tidy
Room service menu was very limited.
Housekeeping didn’t come on one of the days after checking if we wanted it and we did. There was no body wash left and we were down to 1/2 a roll of toilet paper.
The bed was comfortable
I stayed 5 nights. When I arrived there were large clumps of hair in the drain, the soap & body wash pump container was empty. The hair were still there 5 nights later & still no refill of the body wash.
I stay at rydges during Ekka every year because of the close location. This year the entry point was thru the bar, only open a short time. Certainly not early mornings or after 8pm when competitors need the close access.

Il y a des capsules pour se faire un café mais pas de machine pour les utiliser + le staff n'avait pas pris en compte mon extension de séjour et est venu me demander 2 fois de faire mon check out sans prendre en compte les instructions déjà fournis aux autres membres du staff. Je ne me suis pas sentie la bienvenue sur la fin de mon séjour
