Position incredible
The spa area was amazing. The location was superb, The food was delicious. The history of the hotel was very interesting to us.
The junior suite was rather smaller than expected, and the only window in the room was not overlooking the sea and in fact could be overlooked by other residents from their balconies! The staff were often slow at table service at breakfast and sometimes erratic.
Views
Lovely location by the beach.
The room was small and the carpet had a stain by the bed. The bathroom blind was broken and had a stain.
The pillows were not great, quite cheap man made / polyester ones.
One restaurant member of staff was quite rude when we arrived at dinner.
Amazing location! Feels like you're outside of the UK. The hotel itself is looking great, and the facilities are perfect. Really loved the outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi with the view of the ocean. Great restaurants on the territory, and the breakfast has a great selection to choose from.
The views of the main house were lovely but the false advertising regarding the room, poor service and disappointing food were a waste of a great location.
I booked the garden room at the carbis bay hotel for my father’s 60th birthday as a gift and was throughly disappointed with the result. The room was in fact not at the hotel but rather a makeshift cabin 2-3 miles from the hotel at the back of a random house. The supposed garden view was a poorly kept corner of someone back yard. To add insult to injury the bathroom had a loud macerator which went off randomly every few minutes interrupting my parents sleep. The property had numerous Velux windows which were covered in bird excrement and could not be closed. Staff were unhelpful and stated that the pole used to close the window was broken! In general staff were reported to be unhelpful and confused. No information book was provided and staff could not help with a WiFi password. The cabin was so far that reception was patchy and staff were barely contactable! Staff also gave conflicting information continuously- 1 example stating that breakfast was/ wasn’t included- and in general were unhelpful. Although the view in the orangery and by the pool was wonderful I’m informed the breakfast was another disappointment. My mother ordered fruit and yoghurt- the fruit tasted as if it had gone off and the syrup added tasted like a canned brine. My fathers pastry tasted like something from the local coop. Overall not worth the money.
Excellent resort, location, restaurants, staff are excellent. Amazing outdoor pool and facilities.
Everything, nothing not to like, exceptional resort all round
I just can say Carbis bay beach is very nice view only.
Firstly, at front desk check in after that the staff just ask me have you call taxi to your Glambing Pod .I'm very strange that need call taxi???????The staff have not explain why need to call the taxi and have not tell me the pod address , i ask the staff where the location as we need to drop off address, they say once the taxi driver coming i will talk with him. Why the Luxury glambing pod very secret????? The driver came seems already know to send us to the secret living place. The driver nearly 10 mis from carbis hotel or walk back nearly 1 hour. It is ridiculous!!!!!!! When arrive the pod , no staff here and we need to look for him .The driver help me to find him . The pod staff shortly brief the room and have not told me we can use Glambing Pod facility-'The Nest' Spa Garden with treatment room, ice bath, garden sauna and tranquil garden.
I have review carbis bay hotel website then can see the Glambing Pod stated that - "Although POD St Ives is out of the ownership of Carbis Bay Estate, the property is marketed and managed by the Estate on behalf of its owners." But they have not stated the Glambing Pod is too far 10 mins drive / Walk 1hour.If i need to use the hotel pool and dinner need call taxi again by myself.hotel I can't accept the pod is belong Carbis Bay hotel and the hotel have not provide any transport service to up and down hotel / Glambing pod .i need to pay around GBP 40 / 4 times extra transport fee up / down hotel / Glambing pod and waste my time. Because the busy time need to wait 0.5 Hour the taxi.Secondly, the pool view was indeed fantastic. However, the spa of reception huge staff was extremely rude & impolite . In the changing room, when she took away used grey bathrobes from the basket , she asked with a disdainful look "Did you use those two gray bathrobes?"We already said not us to use ,it is the last two women , she still go out and say it is yours.
Really pleased with beach club restaurant for dinner. Food quality incredible.
Service was not amazing or fast. Everything did not feel that friendly.
Stunning location. The beach and coastal walk are beautiful
No welcome drink on arrival, no one helped with luggage. The staff are rude and unhelpful often making you feel like you are an inconvenience. Over priced average food which comes covered in random dressings. The spa is ok but the pool area is overcrowded, the spa its self needs a deep clean and the staff need training in customer service.the manager is also unhelpful and argumentative. Almost £2k on a 2 night stay in a very average hotel.
