This place is a hidden gem. Right on the Thames and surrounded by trees. Unpretentious and great value. Staa very friendly
Nothing
We stayed here last year in a twin room, which was all we could get at the time. Now we’ve tried a double on the balcony we’re sold on the river-dog experience. It’s very dog friendly. Views over the weir, great food, great full English brekkie, super-comfortable bed. Everything you need in the room.. iron, hairdryer, coffee, water, biscuits, plenty of sockets. So much to love about the laid back, enjoyable stay :-)
Were used to a super king bed so king felt small. Fan not enough to keep you cool on the river-side, which is where the sun goes down so you need all doors and windows open and bring another fan. That was a mildly sunny day in June.
Great position on the banks of the Thames. Great breakfast included.
Unlucky to stay during heat wave (worst in UK history in May). Room was small, HOT and overlooked the back carpark and bins. Bathroom window wouldn't open and no breeze came in the bedroom window. We had two fans going flat out (to no avail) and hence, had to use earplugs at night. Also had bright carpark security light shining in the window. At 7:30 p.m on our second night, the industrial washing machine on the floor directly above us ran for two and a half hours, making a terrible noise. We complained twice to no avail. We did not stay for our third booked night. We asked for a refund, but will have to wait and see if it is eventually refunded through Booking.com.
Excellent Hotel. Enormous room and bathroom. Extremely good value, arguably under priced. Breakfast good. Did not like the style of evening meal, but that a personal comment, the amount of local customers prove I am in the minority there. As a bed n breakfast Hotel excellent, great friendly service and lovely room. Wonderful value for money. Thank you.
Great location - quiet at night and nice river location.
It’s a bit tired but that’s reflected in the price it’s fantastic value
Location acceptable although if you walked along the footpath (nothing to do with the Hotel) it was unkempt with lots of branches and vegetation that needed clearing. Also a couple of benches in a poor state.
Breakfast was acceptable although no cornflakes in the basket of cereal on offer - a cereal staple I would have thought. One day there was no butter but upon request this was provided. Breakfast was cooked fairly well although bacon was burnt on one morning and no black pudding. Scrambled egg on toast was very good.
Standard pub fare on the menu. Evening meals were well cooked.
Hotel exterior very unkempt with a weed strewn car park full of potholes.
Interior desperately in need of renovation. Sadly neglected for many a year. One could feel the sadness of the place oozing from its pores and this I think had infected the staff. Not their fault I would add as they were doing their best and probably do not even realise.
Lots of mix and match furniture in the 3 rooms with televisions all able to receive different channels - not one the same! Rusty towel rails and missing shelf and toilet flush in 2 of the 3 bathrooms. Also an all pervading smell of fried food in the corridors.
Die Lage ist super, das Essen top, es gibt sogar Erdinger Weizenbier.. Das Zimmer war hervorragend mit tollem Ausblick
Der Aufgang zum Zimmer ist etwas steil.
Perfect for someone walking the Thames Path as it's right on the trail, although a bit of a walk out of Walton on Thames so would pay to stock up on any supplies before you set off for The Weir
Breakfast offering was a little underwhelming, not much in the way of fruit with the continental option
Breakfast was adequate
It’s a 3 star hotel so all was fine
Very dog friendly, very welcoming of our three dogs. We’ve stayed a few times now. The dog fee is very reasonable. And a delicious breakfast is included. Situated very conveniently for when we travel into central London, but the hotel itself is located in a beautiful location.
Great breakfast
Nice spot by Thames- good walking and recreation
Bath shower dated and ineffective
Breakfast and friendly service
Smell of old cooking oil
