Avoid Padangbai if you like peace and quiet
Pros:

The majority of the staff are great. The facilities are clean, but the neighborhood is not desirable.

Cons:

If you like noise from motorcycles, commercial boat horns, barking dogs, fighting cats, drunk guys playing loud music...then this is the place for you. We had a hard time sleeping through all the noise that went on pretty much all night.

One of the owners was on-site and was not friendly and acted as if he could care less about you patronizing the establishment. The place was completely dead. We spent more time than we should have. We will NOT do that again.

Basic accommodation for one night stay. No complaints!
Pros:

Room was spacious and comfortable. Kids enjoyed the bunk bed.

Cons:

Bathroom sink was too high for kids. It was inconvenient when they have to brush teeth.
It’s rather difficult to drive in to the front of the accommodation. Our driver was stuck at the road outside for at least 30mins.

Hôtel top, si vous souhaitez dormir pour une nuit proche du port. Littéralement en face du port, si vous souhaitez y dormir avant de prendre le bateau, c’est parfait. L’équipe est serviable. Le petit déjeuner est correct.

Le restaurant de l’hôtel était très très bon !
Je me souviendrai de leur steeck Mozza !!

Una sola notte
Pros:

Ottimo punto d’appoggio per dormire una notte prima di prendere il traghetto per le Gili. Personale gentile. Buone sia pulizia che colazione. Ottimo il servizio di deposito bagagli a pagamento per lasciare la valigia senza portarsela alle Gili. Consigliato!

In the heart of the harbour, yet still and tranquil.
Pros:

Beautiful facility and very well kept. The two pools were stunning.

Cons:

I love Indonesian food and generally prefer to eat local dishes over food from another country. I am also very lactose intolerant and coriander tastes like soap. So unfortunately, the menu here had few choices for me.
Everything else about our stay here was wonderful though.
