Spacious clean room.
Clean environment, and comfortable bed.
Due to location on the moor, no external noise, and hotel was very quiet also which all main for a good night sleep.
We prebooked breakfast and that was good value for money including our choice of full English which must have been cooked to order as arrived piping hot and well presented.
Not much to dislike.
The drive upto the hotel via some narrow lanes made more challenging by the highway code/ riad markings obviously not applying (husband is an advanced driver).
Staff were pleasant and efficient but hotel maybe working on miminal staffing, no one on reception at check-out.
Staff were friendly, room was clean, comfortable and quiet. .
More out of the way than I was expecting. I was walking the Pennine way and had to get a bus to Slaithwaite and then I walked up to hotel.
Used to stay here many years ago found it a lovely location, was a peaceful atmosphere.
Don't think it's had a freshen up in quite a few years
The staff were very busy with a wedding on but they were so accommodating. The food was reasonably priced, breakfast had a good selection of food. The location was perfect with stunning views in every direction.
That seemed to be issues with the restaurant adding the bill to the room and at checkout we were unable to pay for our food. It would have been nice if there were more gluten-free options as they had run out of the ones available. It also would have been nice if that was a dairy-free alternative at breakfast for coffees.
Nice views
Very Dated
It was clean. Excellent views. Location perfect for the purpose of visit.
I booked for 2 superior doubles, 1 standard double and a twin room. Unnecessary confusion from hotel receptionist when I called to add names to each room. She said I’d only booked two standard doubles and a twin. I was told I couldn’t add names to the rooms? She then “found my extra double, but not superior as booked?
When I arrived, a man on reception said I had 2 superior, 1 standard and a twin as booked? Why did the lady add stress?
The breakfast was stone cold. Decent looking buffet-style full English but the storage vessels were not heated and everything was cold. Terrible breakfast.
Location
Outdated and tired rooms - stains in the toilet
Ideal location as attending a family gathering.
Breakfast was good
Staff were great friendly and helpful, room was immaculate and tidy and attended to everyday to an extremely high standard. Great shower and bed.
Unfortunately on my last night some travellers rocked up and left a load of mess outside in the car park and were noisy and disrespectful to everybody else staying at the hotel and minding their own business. But not the hotels fault it's just how it is.
Lovely place to stay, excellent food
All good
Location. Lovely views.
When we booked in the girl on reception hadn't a clue and no time for us.
Location was lovely, view for miles.
Comfy bed & linen. Food great.
