Cleanliness
5.2
Multiple reviews mention dirty rooms, musty/moldy smells and lumpy pillows; cleanliness is a notable negative.
Service
10
Staff repeatedly described as friendly, warm and welcoming; service is consistently praised across reviews.
Location
10
Location is a clear strength—central, on the main street, close to restaurants, shops and the beach according to many guests.
Room Quality
5.4
Rooms frequently described as very small, outdated, cramped with uncomfortable beds and noisy conditions; room quality is below average.
Amenities
8
Limited amenities called out (small parking, one parking permit, no air conditioning, no elevator), but basic on-site services exist; amenities are adequate though not comprehensive.
Value for Money
7.5
Several guests felt the price did not match the condition and size of rooms; location adds value but overall value perception is mixed and slightly below top-tier.
Food and Beverage
7.8
Few direct comments beyond a breakfast timing/availability complaint; no strong positive F&B mentions but no widespread issues beyond timing.
Overall Experience
7.7
Mixed overall: excellent location and friendly staff balanced against small, dated rooms, uncomfortable beds, noise and some cleanliness issues—resulting in an overall mid-to-good experience.

We will probably not be staying there again.
Cons:

Room was on the 3rd floor and was too hot to sleep in.
We requested coupons for breakfast and told they were not available to us.

Cons:

Nobody reached out after several complaints during our stay. The room description was wrong, breakfast was not communicated clearly at check-in and despite having attempted to get final answers about the room sending a photo, we were lied to about the room type. Overall very disappointed. Especially having paid peak prices for this hotel.

Pros:

Location was great and friendly staff.

Cons:

The bed was very uncomfortable, and the pillows were stiff and lumpy, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. It was also quite noisy throughout the night, with sounds that resembled furniture being moved, which made it even harder to rest.

Old world charm and character.
Pros:

Quaint historical lodging in the heart of beautiful Carmel. Warm and welcoming staff.

Cons:

Some minor noise issues between rooms probably related to the age of the building.

Good
Pros:

Location is very good, right on the main street of Carmel. Overall it is a nice place, just not awesome for the price it has

Cons:

Parking was full when we arrived (around 6pm), but we could park not too far away in a 2h spot and it was fine. There are less things to do in Carmel than we expected, but this is not the hotel's fault ofc

The area is nice, the parking situation is very inconvenient. Only one parking permit given but it doesn’t gurantee you
Pros:

It’s in a nice location surrounded by small shops and restaurants. It’s only a 10 minute walk to the beach, which is nice. The staff was lovely!

Cons:

They only give one car permit per room. The parking lot is extremely small and you can’t always find parking. I drove around for 30 minutes trying to find parking even though I was staying in the hotel. The room is very small, so was the bed.
