The fine building and grounds
The room and bath shower were extremely dated
Amazing hotel in a fab location
Very clean and comfortable
Friendly helpful staff
The spa was great and the treatments out of this world
Nothing to dislike !
Beautiful building and surroundings
We had 2 double rooms and a suite. The views were of a brick wall. The furniture was old; wardrobe door not secure, handles missing or not matching. Noisy toilet, no shampoo or conditioner, one of the showers didn't work.
The beds were comfy and some of the staff were OK.
The place is very disorganised. I tried to book a meal for 8 and they sent emails first to say it had been booked in the bistro and then to say they couldn't do that as the bistro was closed. There was no offer of any alternative. I rang to ask about the restaurant instead and they said that I could book if we pre ordered. I booked it and sent the ore order form with the time and date. They emailed again to confirm the time and date, which was unnecessary. When we got there they told us THEY had booked it for the wrong date! They accomodated us but more faff. There was no request for card details when we checked in and no information on bar opening times or.breakfast times offered. When we came to pay for the meal we had to pay for food and drinks seperately, more faff. At breakfast I tried to pay at reception beforehand but was told I couldn't. I was then handed a card machine to pay halfway through my cereal. I asked if I could finish my breakfast first and was told I couldn"t. The same was then done for each of my friends. It wasn't the staffs fault I am sure as they had been told to follow rules but they were applying them to the letter. I gave some polite feedback that it wasnt customer friendly to not feel trusted, at the end of the day they have my bank details from the booking, but they were adament. During breakfast, things ran out .staff had to be asked tor plates twice, then napkins as the plates out were dangerously hot, the toaster didnt work and the food was over priced for what it was. I would not recommend.
The room was comfortable, clean and of a good size. The pool was lovely, as were the grounds. Dinner in the restaurant was of a good quality. Second visit here, lovely area, will visit again.
Breakfast is poor compared to dinner in the main restaurant.
I liked the look of the building but the.room i was in felt a bit tired.
Food was a disappointment so i went to the local pub for meals after the first night.
Odd system of having a tab
So u give your room number.
But then they print something off for u to sign, so that process doesn't save time. Its quicker to just swipe a card. Odd out of date system
Loved everything about our stay
Wish we had found it sooner
Nothing,we loved the hotel and spa
The breakfast, which we had on all 4 x mornings, was excellent, just a shame that the coffee machines didn't dispense de-caffinated coffee as it was unavailable.
A smaller kettle that could have been filled in the bathroom sink that we had in our bathroom, we did ask for a smaller kettle at reception and were told that housekeeping would be informed, but it never happened? We bought water to use in the large kettle for our use.
Lovely location with spacious clean bedrooms. Quiet and comfortable.
Outside tables needed clearing it spoilt the initial impression of the hotel.
Lovely surroundings, great staff.
Very busy on a Sunday but manageable.
The team were all lovely, particularly Devon ( apologies if misspelt) and the chap in the bistro.
The hotel was well place for the local party I was attending.
I was provided with information about a local run and my request for the beds to be made up into twins was all sent prior to my stay.
There was a used plaster on the floor of the bedroom.
I had been booked into an ‘accessible room’ without prior knowledge. If I had known I would have booked accommodation at the local pub.
I was told the twin bed set up was not an option, but the double bed was in fact linked single beds.
The toilet seat did not have a lid and there was visible dirt/ excrement on the seat in at least two places.
Because of the very small sink bowl it wasn’t possible to fill the kettle in the sink, instead I had to balance the kettle and fill up using the plastic cups. This is a small but irritating detail given my stay was already ruined.
I did request a room change but was informed the hotel was fully booked and there was no manager on site for me to be able to speak to.
Hotel setting. Room size. Friendly staff.
Room 037 aspect. No outside view.
Lovely area, beautiful building and surroundings
