Amazing Resort in Koh Kood if in your price range. Service amazing
Pros:

This is an amazing boutique hotel with exceptional staff, stunning views, and one of the few properties we would rate a perfect 10.

We stayed in the Sweet Adult Suite, which features a unique open-air style bathroom and incredible ocean views. The restaurant was excellent, with plenty of delicious vegetarian options, and we especially enjoyed the large infinity pool.

We visited during the off-season, which made for a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing stay. The breakfast selection was outstanding, and the resort thoughtfully provides games, paddleboards, life jackets, and snorkeling equipment for guests to enjoy.

The attention to detail really stood out. The rooms include complimentary water bottles and snacks, and the restaurant offers free drinking water—something that is surprisingly uncommon in Thailand.

Overall, Shantaa Resort delivered an unforgettable experience, and we would happily return.

Cons:

I would not say these are bad things but things you should be aware of when booking. 1. No TV. They want you to be focused on the scenery. 2. This place is in nature and therefore there are animals and bugs around the area. The place is clean and this should be expected on an island. 3. You need scooter / taxi to get around. There is nothing walking distance however the resort is amazing and you can spend all day there. 4. The beach attached to the resort is rocky; however a few minute walk gets you to a swimming beach.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft/Anlage, aussergewöhnlich gutes Frühstück, Essen im Restaurant allgemein sehr gut. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Cons:

Die Anlage selbst verfügt über keinen Sandstrand, d.h. entweder man geht an den angrenzenden Strandabschnitt oder man begibt sich auf Erkundungstour (Rollerverleih vor Ort / persönlicher Fahrer kann via Resort organisiert werden). Fussläufig ist nicht viel erreichbar.

We had one of the best trips of our lives here, and Shantaa Villa was a huge reason for that 🤍

Everyone was incredibly friendly and we always felt so well taken care of. The team helped organise the perfect week for us — snorkeling trips, island excursions, scooter rental, kayaking, massages, even a little boat test drive 😄 Everything was effortless and we always felt in very good hands.

The villas and the whole property are absolutely beautiful. The resort is located in such a peaceful area, and although you have access to all the facilities, the lodges are designed in a way that still feels very private and hidden away from the other guests. During our stay we visited many beaches and saw many other hotels, but we genuinely loved ours the most.

When we left, I almost cried a little 🥹 We are already hoping to come back very soon.

And btw — I painted Grandma’s worst enemy 😼🎨🥰

A very special place
Pros:

We loved everything about Shantaa resort. We stayed for our honeymoon, and it was the perfect place to be. It is a very peaceful, relaxing tranquil place. It is so well maintained and designed and the staff are so welcoming friendly and attentive. They have small attention to detail that give it the edge over other resorts, for example towels and drinking water at the pool and beach. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice and really good coffee. The restaurant for lunch and dinner was really good too, lots of choice and really tasty fresh good quality food. The staff made everything so easy for us between bike hire and transfers etc. Would highly recommend staying here it is an exceptional setting. I wish them all the best for the future.

5 nights was the most peaceful, beautiful holiday I've had in many years!
Pros:

Outstanding Resort! Staff perfect! View/location perfect! Food perfect! Bed/room perfect! Bathroom amazing! Pool perfect (25meters!) Best resort I've stayed in for many many years! I'll be back!

Be ware the hot water comes out scalding hot; it will burn you! We mentioned this to management.

Traumhafter Aufenthalt im Shantaa Resort auf Koh Kood
Pros:

Unser Aufenthalt im Shantaa Resort war einfach traumhaft. Unser Zimmer war perfekt eingerichtet – warm, gemütlich und mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet. Besonders toll fanden wir, dass wir zu zweit sogar jeweils einen eigenen Kleiderschrank hatten. Sobald man die Vorhänge aufzog, hatte man das Gefühl, mitten im Dschungel zu sein – einfach wunderschön und unglaublich entspannend.

Das Außenbad war total urig, gleichzeitig aber stilvoll und schön eingerichtet. Jeder Gang ins Bad – egal ob zum Duschen oder einfach nur auf die Toilette – war ein kleines Erlebnis für sich. Unser Zimmer lag zudem sehr privat, sodass man absolute Ruhe und Privatsphäre genießen konnte. Wir würden jederzeit wieder die Villa 2 „Shantaa Extra Sweet“ buchen.

Das Frühstück war à la carte und ließ wirklich keine Wünsche offen. Tagsüber und abends waren wir meist unterwegs essen, aber am ersten und letzten Abend haben wir auch im Hotelrestaurant gegessen – und es war vorzüglich. Dazu kam ein wirklich herausragender Service. Das Personal versteht dort echte Gastfreundschaft und weiß genau, wie guter Service funktioniert. Alle Mitarbeiter waren sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und professionell.

Auch der Pool war wunderschön groß und angenehm ruhig, da er selten überfüllt war. Insgesamt ein Ort, an den wir jederzeit zurückkehren würden.

Cons:

Der Pier direkt am Strand war optisch störend und kann aus unserer Sicht entfernt werden.
