A Taste of Old Scotland
Pros:

If you want the Ritz or the Savoy, don't come here. But if you want to experience old world Scottish charm and go back in time then this is the hotel for you. It's old and perhaps in need of a bit of repair but it is clean and warm. The beds are comfortable and the food is plentiful. The tea, coffee and custard cream biscuits in the room are plentiful. The staff are polite, helpful, hardworking and attentive. My partner and I really enjoyed our stay. It is a very unique place.

Cons:

The music of Neil Sedaka drove me a bit mad during dinner and breakfast!

I paid more than twice what the tiny room was worth
Pros:

Staff were great

Cons:

Room was tiny and not worth half what I paid for it. The others in my party got big rooms with double beds for the same price.

Welcoming. Clean, historic, quiet and accessible to the rest of the Highlands
Pros:

Breakfast was a good spread and it was complimentary every.morning. It's good enough that the locals eat there too.

Cons:

There's no lift/elevator because it's a historic building so if your luggage weighs a ton you'll be lugging it upstairs under your own power.
Not really a complaint but it's something to know.

Pros:

Location was great. The chap at reception who seemed to be a jack of all trades was so nice.

Cons:

A wee bit tired but so many hotels in Scotland are. But there again very good value.

Relaxing mid week one nighter
Pros:

Room was spacious and comfy. Poached eggs were tip top although not great quality bread

Cons:

A bit trivial but too much choice of cereal's on display. Boxes and boxes of them kinda blemished the vibe of the fine dinning room .

Lovely stay!
Pros:

The management and staff were super friendly and helpful. My room was The King Suite which looked out over the famous clocktower as well as the small High Street, The four poster bed was very comfortable and the room very spacious with high ceilings and ornate corniches. Good value for money in an excellent location.

Cons:

It's hard to match" boutique "standards and yes a few rough edges , but they do not matter to me , the room was Agatha Christie brilliant and the management excellent.

Retro hotel, great service
Pros:

The staff, I could not have asked for a more welcoming and friendly reception.

The chap running the hotel seemed to do everything for everyone but he was so efficient hand friendly.

The place is a bit old, but full of character.

Cons:

It’s a bit old and dated, but this also adds to its charm
