Expensive, very uncomfortable hot room, no breakfast. Won’t stay again at this or any of the parent company ‘Historic Su
Pros:

Great location and loads of potential but some serious issues which means I wouldn’t stay again.

Cons:

My room which was £596 for one night was in the ease of the building and about 28°C. I’ve never stayed in an expensive hotel before that didn’t have any air-conditioning and was in the summer hotter inside and outside.

After checking in and being a hot sweaty mess because the Room was so hot, I sat outside on the garden furniture and had a beer to cool off and the chair was filthy and stained my previously clean White shirt.

Also, like a scene out of Fawlty Towers the following morning, I was told at 10:01 that I had missed breakfast which finishes at 10 am. I then had coffee in the dining room and saw hot food coming out of the kitchen and being served until 1024 am.

Awesome and memorable dinner! Great staff and location.
Pros:

Beautiful location in West Sussex countryside. We only went for dinner but lots of couples and families staying there. Staff were lovely and hospitable. The food was just incredible. Seasonal, locally sourced ingredients organised into magical dishes by the chef and beautifully presented on our plates. Every dish in each course was delightful and an absolute pleasure to experience. We eat at a lot of nice restaurants and this was up there. The location in rural countryside made the experience much more memorable, allowing for a leisurely stroll around the gardens before and after the meal! It’s one to remember and head back to especially when the weather is great.

Relaxing stay in beautiful setting
Pros:

Beautiful stay, wonderful staff and lovely treatments. All very relaxed and lovely location. Would recommend.

Cons:

We stayed in a spa suite and although wonderful size, very clean, the room's decor is quite dated.
The pool or hot tub also bleached both of our swimwear which was a shame.

Excellent overnight with dinner.
Pros:

Spent one night at the hotel and used the swimming pools. Hotel is excellent, food and service was outstanding. Room large with good size bathroom, shower was excellent. Easy to find and well worth the price for an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast included.

Manor rooms unbearably hot
Pros:

We specifically checked the weather forecast before travelling and knew it was going to be extremely hot. As I was 8 months pregnant, we made it clear that fans for the whole family were essential, and we were assured that these would be provided.

Unfortunately, when we arrived, there were only two fans available, one of which was very small. We were then told there were no more fans available. As a result, none of us slept properly on our first night due to the heat, which was particularly difficult given my stage of pregnancy.

On the second night, another fan was finally provided, which helped, but it did not change the fact that our first night had been extremely uncomfortable and fell well below what we had been promised.

This was especially disappointing because the rest of our stay was genuinely lovely, and we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and its staff. However, the lack of the promised fans had a significant impact on our comfort and our overall experience. Given that we relied on the assurance provided before our arrival, we feel it was reasonable to request appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and discomfort caused but the hotel unfortunately has not been flexible with our request which is very disappointing and we have been trying to sort this since May.

Better than champneys
Pros:

I travelled here solo as I always take a break on my own every year to recharge. What an absolute treat it was. I have previously stayed at Champneys Forest Mere, Lythe Hill and this was by far superior and I felt like a person rather than a number... From the moment I arrived the staff were so friendly and helpful. I was even upgraded to a suite I could hardly believe when I saw it. The spa was amazing and i had a pedicure which was lovely. The food was delicious, a cooked breakfast and a 3 course dinner. I barely needed lunch. Beautiful pools and just a lovely relaxing place. The village is so quaint and has a local shop which was useful. But most importantly I felt welcomed and the staff made it for me. Thank you I will return!

Enjoyed but could have been better
Pros:

Lovely room loved the size and outside space.

Cons:

Not as clean as I would have liked. Some fixtures and fittings not really of a 4 star standard. Plastic glasses dulled by dishwasher.
