Staff was first rate. Both in hotel and restaurant
Pillows were flat and very uncomfortable. I thought the doors to rooms strange.
Location was great — in walking distance to progressive field and bars/restaurants.
Building was nice — entryway and lounge was pretty
Valet guys were amazing. Quick and helpful — I was most impressed with them!
The hotel wasn’t able to accommodate some requests that I had. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. They “gave me a bigger room” but it was facing a brick wall. It was just really expensive for what we got. I wouldn’t stay here again and I love kimptons
We were looking for a dog friendly pit stop near the highway / and landed at the Kimpton Cleveland - what a terrific hotel!
Charming old building with updated interiors in a great location, attentive staff, friendliest parking valet who found a cart, loaded our luggage and brought it right to the elevator, lovely residents (upper floors) who were also very happy to offer suggestions - nearby dog parks, etc.
Cute dog-friendly outdoor cafe great for people watching, dog bones at check in and complimentary Kimpton postcards at the coffee/tea bar - with an adorable old mailbox to send them off.
Really enjoyed our very brief stay in Cleveland and at the Kimpton - and will definitely stay there next time. Only suggestion would be to add a grab bar near/in the shower.
I was extremely disappointed with my experience and regret choosing this hotel. Hilton offered similar rates, along with a better location and views, but I selected the Kimpton because of my IHG status. Unfortunately, I wish I had made a different choice.
The first room we were assigned was very small, we were tripping with our luggage and other furniture in the room, it was poorly lit, and had an unpleasant view of the neighboring building’s walls. After we raised our concerns the following day, a manager named Joseph was very helpful and moved us to a larger room with better lighting. Although we appreciated his assistance, the second room faced the street and was extremely noisy. It also had poor ventilation, and the windows could not reasonably be opened because they did not have screens, which would have allowed insects into the room.
The most troubling part of the stay occurred around 11:30 p.m., when someone knocked on our door to deliver an envelope containing information about the hotel’s smoke-detection system, articles emphasizing its accuracy, and notice of a $300 smoking fee. Neither my husband nor I smoke or vape. Earlier, we had taken a hot shower and used a clothes steamer in a poorly ventilated room, which we believe may have triggered the detector.
When I spoke with the front desk the following morning, I was repeatedly told that the detector was 99.9% accurate. There was no apology, meaningful discussion, or willingness to consider that the alert could have resulted from steam or humidity. Instead, I felt that my husband and I were being directly accused of smoking despite our clear denial and the absence of any physical evidence.
I was then referred to another manager, but the interaction was similarly dismissive. There was no genuine effort to investigate the circumstances or discuss the limitations of the device.
I offered to allow hotel staff to inspect the room for physical evidence of smoking, including odor, ashes, cigarette remnants, burns, or any other signs. I was told that staff were not permitted to conduct such an inspection. However, housekeeping had entered and did not entirely clean the room, only trash can was cleaned, and no physical evidence of smoking was ever presented to us. Despite that, the detector alert appeared to be treated as conclusive proof.
I eventually obtained Bill’s email address and contacted him directly. The $300 fee was ultimately waived, but I received no apology, refund, or meaningful acknowledgment of the distress caused by the accusation.
I have reported the experience to IHG. While I appreciate Joseph’s assistance with changing our room, his kindness and professionalism, I wish I could say the same about the rest of the staff members and managers. The overall handling of the situation was unprofessional and deeply upsetting. I would not stay at this property again. Based on my experience, I would recommend considering Hilton instead for its location, views, and customer service.
I was truly impressed with my recent hotel stay! The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful, making me feel very welcome from the moment I arrived. The entire establishment exuded an air of elegance and was impeccably clean throughout. My room was a delightful surprise, offering a generous amount of space that felt luxurious and comfortable. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
While the room itself was quite elegant, I was a bit surprised by the absence of an adequately stocked mini-bar. Given the caliber of the accommodations, I had anticipated a more comprehensive selection. Furthermore, it would have been a considerable convenience to have found USB ports available for charging devices. This would have greatly enhanced the overall functionality of the space.
Is a beautiful hotel, great ambiance. Our room was very comfy and clean. Loved the decorative touches. The staff was kind, friendly, and helpful. We ate at the hotel restaurant and the food was reasonably priced and delicious. The menu was a nice change from run of the mill hotel food. Highly recommend!!
The lobby is nice. The bell boy was friendly as was the security guard. My friend asked for a blanket that literally never arrived and when he went to ask again. It was late in the night and it took over 30 minutes to get a blanket.
I liked the property. There was nothing I didn’t like
Accommodations, complimentary breakfast, wine social early evening, clean rooms, comfortable beds, spacious bathroom
Smaller room size although bathroom was spacious
All of the employees were super helpful and friendly. The room was large (though no robe and slippers?) and the bathroom enormous. Large comfortable bed with good linens. The AC drowned out most of the noise in the hallway and neighboring rooms, but I don't think there was much at all. I asked for a quiet room and got one, it faced an older (empty I think) building so no street noise at all! Ella was very responsive with my pre-stay emails and getting me that room. Joshua was very kind to sort out a minor housekeeping issue and Nicole helped with that. The food at Betts was delicious and those servers were so cheerful and pleasant. I have to say that solo female travelers should be on alert in the surrounding neighborhood, especially walking from the train station. There was a convenient bus right around the corner, and a grocery and drug store nearby. If I ever return to Cleveland I'd be happy to stay here. Thank you to all.
The hotel is in a great location. Very clean and staff was so nice and helpful. Gave us terrific ideas of places to eat and visit. Beds comfy and room was cozy.
Once again, we had a great overnight stay here at the Kimpton Schofield. Joseph, Ella and Geordan could not have been more welcoming. Our room was great, the restaurant next door so convenient and the welcoming glass of wine could not have been more appreciated from a long day on the road. 5 stars
Another fine Kimpton hotel. It has old hotel charm but has been up graded with modern amenities.
Our 7th floor room was clean and spacious with a nice view of downtown Cleveland. It appears to have been recently renovated. The only real complaint is that the lighting in the bathroom is inadequate and I had to set up a makeshift makeup table using my suitcase flipped on its side and set into the wide window ledge. There were plenty of towels, tissues, hot water and toiletries. The hotel provides bottled water every day without charge. We requested a microwave and it was provided. A mini-fridge is built into the dresser. There are 3 generous drawers and a closet full of hangers for adequate storage. The hotel is quiet and the staff is courteous. The beds and linens were reasonably comfortable but the pillows were too hard for us hard. We always travel with out own pillows! So this was not a problem for us. In addition, breakfast is included at the attached gourmet resto Betts!
The food at Betts is amazing. We ate all our dinners there. We were in Cleveland to attend our grandson's graduation and the last night, we hosted a celebration in honor of the occasion for a party of 9. Everyone was delighted with the food. The cocktail menu is innovative, delicious and addictive. There are plenty of choices of vegetarian, vegan and seafood dishes on the menu.
We must also sing the praises of the luxury ride from the airport provided by Dan & Jen's Luxury Experience. Dan & Jen picked us up at Cleveland Hopkins airport at 11:15 PM. When I called them to say we had arrived, they were already there waiting for us! We had given them our flight details and told them we would have baggage to pick up. They were actually right outside the door next to the carousel where we picked up our luggage! Dan is an exceptionally careful driver. They were pleasant and courteous. The car was clean and in perfect condition, a deluxe van with ample seating room and plenty of space for our 4 pieces of luggage.

Thanks to the Kimpton Schofield, Betts resto, and Dan & Jen's Luxury Experience limo service our trip to Cleveland was a very happy one indeed!
