Hôtel bien situé et très pratique pour une courte durée.
Pros:

Hôtel très bien situé au cœur de la vieille ville de winterthur.
Agréable de toujours trouver de l’eau fraîche dans le petit frigo.
Vitres très bien insonorisées.

Cons:

Mur de la chambre extrêmement fins, nous entendons tout ce qu’il se passait à côté, ça criait toute la nuit dans la chambre voisine les deux nuits de notre séjour.
Moquette de la chambre pas extrêmement propre.

Pros:

L’hôtel est vraiment nickel, très propre et bien entretenu. Nous avons passé un agréable séjour et avons apprécié la qualité des lieux. En revanche, nous avons été un peu déçus par l’accueil de la réceptionniste, que nous avons trouvé assez froid et peu chaleureux. C’est dommage, car l’hôtel en lui-même est très agréable.

Cons:

Manque la climatisation dans les chambres.

Did not get the hotel room
Pros:

I am writing to formally dispute my prepaid reservation for Plaza Hotel Winterthur (28-29 July, 2 rooms, 4 adults) and request an immediate 100% refund plus reimbursement for alternative accommodations.

Summary of Events:
Prepaid Booking & Late Arrival Noted: My booking was fully prepaid online, leaving only the 14 CHF city tax pending (3.50 CHF x 4 guests). I explicitly specified during booking that we would arrive late in the evening.
Broken Check-In Machine & Incorrect Charges: Upon arrival, the hotel was completely locked with no staff present. The automated self-check-in terminal retrieved my booking using my last name but wrongfully demanded 85 CHF instead of the 14 CHF city tax. Despite the unauthorized charge, I attempted to pay just to access our rooms after a long journey, but the machine’s payment receiver failed repeatedly. I have full video proof of the terminal glitching, demanding 85 CHF, and failing to process payment.
No Emergency Contact / Unresponsive Management: The phone number displayed on the self-check-in terminal for emergency support is +41 79 969 42 17. I called this number repeatedly throughout the early morning and sent urgent WhatsApp messages explaining that we were locked out. The owner completely ignored my calls and messages during the night and only replied late the following afternoon, falsely claiming it was "inappropriate" to call.
Stranded Family & Forced Alternative Hotel: My family and I were left waiting outside/in the entry area for hours like stranded guests. With no staff showing up and no access provided, we were forced to leave at 9:00 AM to book a room at the Radisson Blu Hotel Airport for an additional 165 CHF just to sleep. This ruined our scheduled plans, including our car rental pickup and day itinerary.

Cons:

Reimbursement of 165 CHF for the Radisson Blu expense caused by their negligence.
I have attached video recordings of the terminal malfunction, call logs showing answered/unanswered attempts, and screenshots of the owner’s WhatsApp response confirming the phone number matches the kiosk.

Please process this resolution immediately.

Insgesamt schön trotz der Hitze
Pros:

Zimmer war geräumig, alles sehr sauber, Betten bequem, das Bad sehr gut mit einer großen Dusche, alles wirklich prima.
Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral an der Altstadt und fußläufig zu den großen Museen, sehr schön.

Cons:

Leider liegt das Hotel auch an einer stark befahrenen Ausfallstraße und wir hatten ein Zimmer zur Straße. Bei geschlossenen Fenstern hört man rein gar nichts, aber leider war es so heiß, dass wir die Fenster öffnen mussten, daher waren die Nächte sehr unruhig. Da wäre eine Klimaanlage schön gewesen, so lief eben der Ventilator durchgehend (das aber reibungslos).

Pros:

Ruime kamers. Midden in het centrum. Vriendelijke personen.

Cons:

Geen airconditioning maar een ventilator. Bij een hitte golf help dat helaas niet.

Cons:

Rezeption nicht besetzt. Es gibt einen Automaten fürs Check-in. Der stürzte aber ab. Es kam dann doch jemand, nachdem wir endlich zKlingel gefunden hatten. Im Zimmer kein WC-Papier. Im Schrank ne dicke Staubschicht.
