Five rooms on the first floor of a cool, authentic, Victorian-style British pub. Mine faced the street and Manchester Piccadilly station, and I found the view fascinating. Clean, well-maintained rooms with good-quality bed linen and towels. Complimentary orange juice, which came in handy during the June 2026 heatwave. The fan was a nice touch, too. The staff were friendly and easy-going. A perfect location for a city break.
Be aware that the pub is closed on Sundays, so you won't be able to leave your luggage there after the 10:30 a.m. checkout.
There were three of us guests trying to figure out how to use the coffee machine at self-service continental breakfast. To no avail 😅 But there's instant coffee and milk in the rooms, so you'll be fine.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The location just across from the Manchester Piccadilly rail station is perfect. The atmosphere was relaxing and calm. Being near the rail station also meant I could easily access the free Manchester City bus to get around.
Traffic noise in the early morning combined with early railways did wake me early.

Location was very good Diane very helpful
Location was great , right next to the train station which was ideal for our stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, everything in The room that was needed for a comfortable 1 nights stay . Easy access to building if it was after hours . Complementary water and a small continental breakfast provided. ( we didn’t have breakfast though )
Unfortunately the bathroom could do with some updating and wasn’t very clean. Lots of marks on tiles , shower seals ,door seals ,visible dust and grime on skirting boards .

Charming old pub with original features from turn of last century. Located across a busy road from Piccadilly station. Breakfast was diy but adequate.
Very busy loud road 24/7 had 4 hrs sleep. Secondary glazing did little to keep out road noise.Did not realise how busy the road was before booking.

The room was really clean, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the staff were super friendly and helpful.
The location was right across from the train station, which was great however, there was nowhere close to eat - the bar below the rooms does not serve food and there are very limited restaurants nearby. Also, there is no lift - you need to climb several flights of stairs to get to the rooms - and when the bar shuts down or when you need to check out, this requires going up or down a steep steel staircase directly onto the street - which doesn't feel really safe -although it is protected by a great security system. Because it was so hot (+38), we had the window open for awhile to try to cool the room down a bit. However little flies were coming in that were biting us so we had to shut the window which made the room really hot and stuffy. Finally, the door on the bathroom did not close so there was a lack of privacy - not a huge issue for a couple but I was there with my daughter and it did bother her.
