The room was lovely and great attention to detail. Impressive!
Location was great perfect for cruise departures - just be mindful it's on a busy road and there is some noise from traffic and nearby bars.
We did have a problem with the showers as the hot water had gone off so it was cold showers for everyone which was a shame.

Staff was great, room was comfortable. I truly can't think of anything I didn't like. If I have a chance to come back, I will definitely love to revisit.
Lovely rooms and nicely refurbished
There was no hot water. it was reported in the evening of arrival and was still not sorted for the morning. On check out was offered a complimentary coffee to make up for having no hot water
The room was really very nice. We especially liked the comfortable bed and rain shower. It was spotless.
We didn’t get any sleep due to the noise from outside. At midnight a couple of guys started removing paving slabs from the historic building situated directly opposite our room. The police arrived and we heard them say they had permission. The police were about to leave when we and other guests from the next building called down to complain. He simply apologised the police left and then continued albeit slightly quieter. At 3am an individual could be heard smashing glass bottles outside. Again the police arrived very quickly had a chat and then left and finally at 7:30am 2 official gentleman arrived and began what looked like restoration work on the historic wall with hammers, chisels and an electric drill. This was all on a Sunday evening and Bank Holiday Monday morning. Nothing here could have been prevented by hotel staff but nevertheless spoiled our entire stay.
Excellent on all fronts. Lovely, well-appointed rooms that are extremely comfortable. Wonderful staff and amazing dinner menu. It is a definite treat to stay. Super-handy location for travelling out of Southampton by ferry.
Parking at the back is very limited but you can request a space and staff will do their best to park their own car in it until you arrive.

Noisy road out the front, inconsiderate guests being noisy at 3:30am. Freezing cold shower on the morning due to issue with the boiler that couldn’t be resolved.

The whole experience was great, lovey atmosphere when walking into the reception/ bar area..the food in the restaurant was fantastic, staff professional and accommodating… nice to see. The room was also very modern clean and maintained.
The road noise .. understandable as the hotel is positioned on the main road but was so so noisy that I couldn’t sleep. Maybe a larger bed, although comfortable it was just a little small and I think guests would benefit from a queen bed.
