This hotel has a long history. Glory days are over, the beautiful building remains. The hotel is stripped of it's luxury, but not of its charm. It still breathes the grandeur of days gone by. On top of this, the owners are extremely friendly and service minded. Impossible to enter or leave without a nice greeting or small chat.
Besides this, the surroundings are stunning. A hidden gem!
Great location and beautiful building from the OUTSIDE!
The hotel needs massive improvements. The beds are uncomfortable, our window didn’t open, no fans for the room, no water in the room, no one on reception when needed, have to pay extra for their own car park, shower pressure was pathetic and cold, room tired and dirty. And the list goes on.
No breakfast
Shower was very average
The man on reception was very helpful and tried to find plasters for me.
It was ok for me, but it was at the top of a very steep hill. Just so other people are aware.
The location is good, and the building is great with interesting history. Helpful staff. Value for money.
Friendly staff, clean room, good value for money
No bar, check out a bit early
- directly at the start of the trekking route to the Valley of the Rocks. The hike was beautiful.
- not much parking spaces on the street available (free in the late afternoon and at night). We were lucky and found one. Otherwise you could have payed for parking at the hotel but we did not use that so I do not know where the parking spaces are as we did not see them.
The room was clean and comfortable.
There was an area for a bar,but nothing in it.
The garden was very overgrown. The hotel was very dated.
We went to book breakfast for Monday morning, but because the hotel had gone quite they dont do breakfast.
Old hotel, but lots of character .Fantastic position, could be an outstanding hotel but money needs to be spent
Bar and restaurant not open
Situated in a beautiful position looking over the sea. A very calming experience.
Great location, spacious room, decent facilities and the staff helpful. The value for money is unquestionable.
The floorboards in the room were creaky and a little uneven. This is to be expected to some degree in a period building like this one. But could do with some attention.
Location was ideal and the price reflected the quality. Great views.
Overall stay was ok. Bathroom was in need of overhaul, cracked sink, stained shower seals, missing shelf etc. Whole hotel in need of an update
Location was fantastic, beautiful old building .pillows were awesome.
Sadly room was smaller than expected, not particularly clean, cobwebs all over, dirty carpet, shower trap blocked. Mattress sloped on one side. Bedside lamps provided but nowhere to plug them in no sockets near bed, just 2 under tv, couldnt sit at desk as was at end of bed so couldnt fit a chair under it, furniture was modern and obviously new so that was a plus but it didnt fit in the space. Mattress not comfortable as well as sloping , duvet very thin , yes ideal for summer but not the best, though pillows 10 out 10 amazing. friends staying in another room had the same experience. Doors very noisy closing around hotel, could do with soft close.
The location is incredible.
I was really unhappy with the security at the hotel. I definitely wouldn't stay there as a single woman. Apart from that the bed was very uncomfortable, walls are paper thin, facilities are almost non-existent, and the building is very tired. I could have dealt with most of those issues but the lack of security made me feel very unsafe. I left after one night.
