The location was perfect for stepping out straight into the heart of the town and the view from our room was superb.
Looked a bit tired and could do with updating but we knew that before booking so it wasn’t a problem for us.
The staff were lovely and gave us lots of information about the history of the hotel and the surrounding area... the hotel was in an excellent location in Lynton and we would/will recommend staying at your hotel to anyone, however my partner and I visited Lynmouth during our stay and preferred it to Lynton... if we visit again we would book a hotel in Lynmouth....: The Bathroom - The shower was easy to operate and the water was piping hot......... the radiator was excellent as we visited in October and the evenings were a little chilly. The 'sea view' was lovely. Many thanks for a lovely stay....... xx
We would have liked somewhere in the bathroom to put clothes and toiletries etc... (there was only a small shelf and a small area at he top end of the bath??), we had to put our shower/bath items ie, clothes and toiletries etc, etc on the floor.......... The 'force/pressure' of the water from the shower (Room 51) was overwhelming..... my partner was fully clothed when he turned the shower on and was totally blasted with water... which drenched him and also sprayed water over the total area of the bathroom.... I offered to help but my partner insisted on sorting out the 'flood' himself which took him ages to mop up all of the water!!!! We were extremely confused regarding the breakfast..... when I booked the two nights away in Lynton my partner and I would have liked to have booked - 'bed and breakfast', however, I was told that breakfast was an extra cost of just under £13.00 per person.. I was also told that breakfast was not a cooked breakfast... instead it was a 'continental breakfast'? we decided to have a cooked breakfast elsewhere in Lynton or Lynemouth (we were used to a full English Breakfast on our previous short breaks), however on our last night's stay I noticed a fairly large advertisement which was in a corridor outside one of the lifts in the hotel .......... which had an advertisement/poster of a dinner plate showing a full cooked English breakfast ie, fried egg, hash browns, sausage etc, etc, etc???????????????????? We didn't enquire about the advertisement because we were leaving early the following morning, however the poster/advertisement should have been removed if the cooked breakfast was not available!!!! During our stay at your hotel we talked to lots of the locals living and trading in the areas and were told that it was a general belief that your hotel was destined to be closed and renovated resulting in many privately owned flats?????
Great property in the middle of the town
The only thing that let the property down was the noise from the road- even with all windows closed it was still quite loud so may not suit a light sleeper
Amazing Victorian hotel in the centre of Lynton with a large lounge and friendly staff. Nice views from rooms.
The rooms are badly in need of redecorating but that is reflected in the price.

No on site bar, had the atmosphere of a travel lodge. Great pity - beautiful historic hotel with huge potential. Could be an absolute gem with it’s amazing location and architecture.
