Nein, nochmals werden wir dort nicht nächtigen
Pros:

Das einzig positive: das Frühstück, für englische Verhältnisse eine recht gut Auswahl, dazu freundliche Mitarbeiter.
Im Gegensatz zum lustlosen Personal beim Einchecken und bei der Verabschiedung. Zimmer ganz oben unterm Dach (Auzug nur bis zum vorletzten Stock, dann eine Treppe zu Fuß) in der hintersten Ecke, brütend warm, der Maler ist in dem Stock wohl unterwegs, es standen Farbeimer rum. Im Zimmer waren auch Malerarbeiten zu sehen, der ausführende Mitarbeiter sollte aber mal über seine Malerehre nachdenken, und vielleicht auch alles mit Farbe anstreichen. Im Schrank stand ein Lüfter zur Verfügung, Steckdosen unterm Schreibtisch oder hinterm Bett. Hotel liegt nahe dem Hafen, was nicht schlecht ist. Der allgemeine Zustand ist arg runtergewirtschaftet, zur Zeit reicht es noch für englische Bustouristen, als nächstes wird das Hotel dann wohl geschlossen, so wie zwei weitere auf der Straße. Von Grand Hotel ist schon lange nichts mehr zu spüren.

Cons:

Seit Jahren mal wieder hatte ich den Eindruck, dass ich als Gast über Booking.com ein Gast zweiter Klasse bin. Das allerletzte, runtergekommste Zimmer oben unter dem Dach, ohne vernünftige Belüftung, restlos aufgeheizt.

Nice hotel for overnight stay
Pros:

Welcoming staff. To be honest we arrived late and checked out quite early. Did not have a chance to use restaurant.

Cons:

Parking. The 10 spaces in car park were full. The spaces outside the hotel were full. The roads by the hotel were full so we had to park overnight and during the day in the harbour. Not very convenient but I think it is a problem with Ilfracombe being quite small

Apart from the initial booking issues the Hotel did what it said on the tin

Cons:

Hotel claimed I had cancelled my booking(!) Showed me the cancellation document.
I originally had a different booking for an extra night but had cancelled a couple of months earlier & had re-booked for 2 nights. Attempted to show my booking on the Booking.com App but they were not interested.
Claimed it was an issue with Booking.com & they wouldn't be be able to assist as the hotel was full.
This was obviously very concerning as we were checking in late in the evening.

However after a bit of panic, the lady on reception managed to find us a room so all worked out in the end :)

The staff are very good and the location excellent

The stairs not suitable for disabled people and the heating is always on that's not in the summer

Enjoyable stay
Pros:

Room had everything I needed and was clean and comfortable although hot as the outside temperatures were in the 30s but a fan was provided. Stayed on a room only basis so can't comment on the breakfast. The hotel is well situated within easy walking distance of harbour/shops.

As always a very satisfying stay.
Pros:

Great breakfast, great varied evening dinner, very good location as close to landmark, bus stop right outside hotel, all staff friendly and welcoming as always.

A pleasant stay
Pros:

Conveniently located for all local amenities. Clean and tidy although need s refurbishing and updating in some areas.

Cons:

Car parking is expensive except overnight parking directly outside thd hotel or in nearby street which is free 6pm until 10 am

Give this place a miss!!!
Pros:

The bar & night staff were very nice, location good

Cons:

Our room was 34 degrees (10 degrees hotter than outside) shower had no water pressure, receptionist wasn't interested. Speaking to other guests all had the same experience but had managed to get moved.

A well located hotel with good sized clean rooms and welcoming staff.
Pros:

The reception team were very friendly and the room was very spacious and clean. The location is excellent with of Ilfraconmbe's attentions within easy reach.

Cons:

The bed could have been larger, otherwise everything was excellent.
