A Tesoro in the Caribe, Magic Place

We like the location, @ Roatan every uber/taxi driver knows Caribe Tesoro. Jeanelle was very supportive and the rest of the staff as well. We loved the restaurant and of course the room itself, comfort and it exceeded our expectations.

Cons:

I personally didn't like the double charge it was made to my CC, and the support I was getting at the very beginning since they were not responsive. However Victoria managed to get the reimbursment and was able to solve this incident.

Also we went for a walk, late night and found out the door was closed and no lights were on. At the end we were able to manage how to access our room but no staff available at that moment

La struttura é posizionata alla punta di West Bay . La spiaggia é raggiungibile attraverso una passerella pubblica che conduce direttamente alla sabbia bianca di West bay percorrendo tipo 100 metri. Il ristorante annesso mette a disposizione una molo in legno dove si può mangiare o bere qualcosa sia di giorno che di sera e spesso c'è musica dal vivo tipo piano bar molto rilassante e in línea con la location. Buona la pulizia generale degli ambienti. Giudizio complessivo molto buono alla luce anche del rapporto qualità prezzo.

Cons:

Letto matrimoniale King molto comodo ma molto scricchiolante. Letto alla francese, ribaltabile alla parete Llestito per i miei due figli di 10 e 16 anni totalmente sfondato e aggiungerei inservibile.

Caribe Tesoro
Pros:

Great location right off of West Bay Beach. The beach is a few hundred feet and you are there. Rooms are comfortable and spacious and the staff at Craft Cooking always took care of us. Thank you Scott, Allen, Walter, and Tomas for the great drinks and good cooking. We will be back again soon.

Tropical paradise!
Pros:

The Caribe Tesoro was an excellent place to stay in Roatan! The rooms were nice, the location on West Bay beach was perfect and the staff was always smiling and ready to help with anything we needed. The had a swimming pool that was perfect for kids and grownups alike! They had a generous free breakfast that is perfect when you’re on vacation…and the view when you’re eating it is pure tropical paradise! Thank you Caribe Tesoro for an amazing week will always remember!

hermoso hotel de playa
Pros:

la ubicación es perfecta, con una playa "privada" y un muelle propio. Con música al atardecer y anochecer. A pasos del pueblo por la orilla, definitivamente una estadia relajada.

Cons:

diría que todo bien. Perdimos una noche, pero fue por el transfer que nos llevó de Tegucigalpa a La Ceiba.

The view and temperature inside , food . The night view the pool .

Cons:

They didn’t have a functioning stove and we needed to make food for the babies, especially sterilizing the bottles . The staff stated unless the 7 rooms are all rented out they dont have it on.
Also it stated they had babysitting at additional cost and when i asked the staff they said they don’t provide that service.
I understand spiders and mosquitoes but there was a roach the size of my pinky . Also there was door with broken glass which is dangerous to have in an environment for kids.

Everything you need to know about Caribe Tesoro

Don’t go by anything else you read about Caribe Tesoro in West Bay, Roatan. We stayed there from Feb. 16 to Feb. 23, 2026 and this is the true story of how we overpaid for a less than optimal experience ...

Filtered drinking water in the room.

Cons
• Tiny, tiny room. On Expedia it’s called the Comfort Double Room, but at the hotel it’s called Santiago de Palos. Whatever you call it, I’ve seen bigger rooms for less in major cities like London and Rome! Heck, I’ve seen bigger walk-in closets. The king-size bed has less than 3 feet on any given side and there’s nowhere to put your suitcase except on the floor – and when you did that the bathroom door wouldn’t close
• Decent-sized bathroom and shower, but the counter top it miniscule (maybe 2 X 3 feet max)
• No closets or drawers
• The description on Expedia says the tv has “premium cable channels”. What we got was the Netflix app, and to use it you needed you own account information
• No beach. (Fortunately, they have a reciprocal arrangement with Bananarama, as long as you’re willing to walk ten minutes there and back.)

Worst of all
I screwed up our flight booking and had to change our CT reservation from Feb. 15 – 22 to Feb 16 – 23 – a difference of one day! Expedia advised us that the cost would go up 50%. I asked for an explanation, but never got one, but decided to live with the difference.

In conclusion
We will not be returning to Caribe Tesoro. If we go back to Roatan, we’ll just stay at Bananarama and cut out the middle man (for a fraction of the price).
