Really nice place, and nice food in the restuarant. Great location and great for getting married in Manhatten
Enjoyed our stay in the historic Beekman. Great customer service. Loved the experience sitting and having drinks in the bar.
All staff members were exceptionally nice and helpful. They were quick to apologize for issues.
The first morning we woke up to a 77 deg room because the AC was broken. They said normally they check that before we check in but "forgot" in this case. The second morning there was loud banging for 40 minutes starting at 7 am as they worked on a repair in a nearby room. Both days we really wanted to sleep in and relax but were unable to do so. I also informed the property that this was my engagement weekend with the hopes they would do something special, even a simple "congratulations" upon check in but nothing happened.
Very nice place. The staff was super nice, friendly, and helpful. The location can't be beat. The property itself is very "New York" for lack of a better term, meaning it's charming and has a certain vibe. Great food and drinks.
Stayed on the 9th floor not in the atrium. It was so quiet and clean. The hotel breakfast is a bit busy on the weekends. Consider making a reservation, as it doesn't seem there's any priority given for hotel guests. Would definitely stay again.
Fabulous interior and staff are mostly friendly. It was enjoyable to wake up to enjoy the live Jazz music.
However, the king bed room was tiny, with windows faced towards the inside, and housekeeper knocked our door in the afternoon without any notice, making it not really worth the price.
The hype is real. The staff, service, interior decor and food is top notch. The location is perfect for exploring on foot.
Def request higher floor and avoid room 228 area… there is a night club down below. Unless you plan on partying at the club, you won’t be able to sleep…
My wife and I stayed here overnight for our 5 year wedding anniversary. Service was lovely (Aris at the front desk made us feel right at home. The doormen were above and beyond fantastic.)
Our room had wonderful sparkling wine, chocolates and a sweet note from the property to celebrate our anniversary. Very kind and thoughtful.
The pillows in our room were horrendous. Could barely sleep on them and needed a major nap the next day to make up for it. Thankfully with 4pm globalist checkout we made up some lost sleep.
The hotel told me "no charges" at checkout and then slammed my credit card for $30 for made up mini bar charges later that day. I've forwarded the folio to my Hyatt Concierge to resolve but this was incredibly unprofessional by the property to do and soured my opinion of them.
Missing personnel’s item, but hotel not trying to help. No call back no follow ups. They not willing to give you upgrade even if the upgrade is available.
wonderful old hotel and staff was great. Overall good experience and room was nice. enjoyed our stay. Staff was helpful, convenient location for Brooklyn bridge and financial district.
It’s centrally located, great service and restaurants. Rooms are comfortable and the gym is great. Complementary coffee in the mornings.
Everything was great. It would be great to have a kettle or a coffee maker in the rooms though..
I recently stayed at the The Beekman, A Thompson Hotel and overall the experience was mediocre with a few bright spots.
The stay started off on the wrong foot when our room was not ready when we arrived at 5:30 PM, which caused us to rush and ultimately arrive late to our dinner and show. Upon check-in, we were not provided with a welcome letter or any clear explanation of the amenities or benefits tied to our reservation. This led to confusion the next morning. For example, we later learned we had a breakfast credit, but were never advised to make reservations, resulting in a 45-minute wait to be seated.
Another inconvenience was the late checkout policy. Guests cannot request late checkout until the morning of departure, which makes it difficult to plan ahead, especially if you’re hoping for a relaxed morning without uncertainty.
When I asked about the missing information and lack of explanation, I was told they were overwhelmed with Chase Sapphire and Amex bookings and had to reprint benefit materials. While understandable, it still impacted the overall experience and should be better managed.
The highlight of the stay was the housekeeping team. They were incredibly kind, attentive, and flexible, doing an excellent job keeping the room clean and organized while working around our schedule.
Overall, while the property itself is beautiful, the service and communication gaps made the experience fall short of expectations.
I stayed at The Beekman recently while in NYC for a high-stakes professional presentation. Having traveled in from Boston the night before, my primary goal was to get a solid night’s rest to ensure I was sharp and productive the following day. Unfortunately, I was given what I can only describe as the worst possible room in the hotel.
At 12:45 AM, I was jolted awake by the deafening noise of a trash pickup truck directly outside my window. The removal process lasted an entire hour, making it impossible to drift back to sleep. Just as I finally managed to close my eyes again, the trucks returned at 4:30 AM for another round.
I called the front desk during both instances. While the staff was apologetic, the damage was done. My entire night was ruined, and as a result, I was completely unproductive during my presentation the next day.
While I appreciate that the hotel manager provided some points as a gesture of goodwill, it doesn't make up for the lack of basic soundproofing and poor room placement. For a Category 6 hotel, you expect a premium experience—or at the very least, a quiet night's sleep. This was a major letdown for a property of this supposed caliber.
The room was incredibly clean and the staff was very kind
No coffee machine or kettle in the room which forced us to order room service to have some tea before bed. Also no amenities in the bathroom which was shocking for a 5 star hotel since most provide you with almost all the toiletries you need during your stay.
Conveniently located with comfortable, quiet rooms, a very friendly staff and great dining options.
We had three different rooms with friends and family and all of us said we would go back.
