Poor experience- not recommended
Pros:

Hotel is fine, but could be better and cleaner. Noise level is high. i am here during the Knicks parade, but the windows have no noise protection. miserable night before an important client meeting, and i am on floor 8!
I called in asking for lunch as we were holed up all day due to the parade, and the only option they had for me is mac and cheese! this from a full fledged hotel, that claims to have full service! Im never coming back....

Could have been great, but construction noise meant little to no sleep.
Pros:

First impressions is that the hotel looked lovely and a great location albeit tucked away (a bit awks for the taxi driver to drop off).

Check in wasn’t till 4 - that’s quite late. I emailed in advance to say we were arriving in the morning. We were leaving a cruise ship, so this was out of our control. On arrival they said our room wasn’t ready (fair enough) but that for $50 we could upgrade our room. We were staying just for one night so didn’t want to pay that (and it was a celebration for my husband’s 60th) but the chap wouldn’t be persuaded to let us have the room. We returned at 3.30 - still no room, but a difference receptionist who felt our pain and upgraded us to room 502.

The room was lovely, no view as such but a big bed and a sofa, and a lovely bathroom with great lighting.

They did bring up a lovely bottle of prosecco, a hand written card and some chocolates for my husband which was a nice touch.

However, we were super tired and excited to get a good nights sleep as had to get up at 5.30 the next day for a flight - this is when it all went wrong. At midnight, thought till at least 3am there was constant drilling and banging - construction work nearby - horrendous. No ear plugs provided or any warning of this. No double glazing. The air con was playing up too, when it came on it drowned out some of the noise, but it kept turning off and the room was super hot. Such a shame.

Positives
- Great Art Deco look all around the hotel
- Free coffee in reception
- Great cocktail bar with interesting art
- Concierge were good for restaurant recommendations when we emailed in advance, super helpful.
- Comfy bed and spacious room
- Walking distance to Time Square and Greenwich Village etc

Negatives
- Noise - request a room at the back or enquire in to the works going on (when we left the doorman asked about our stay, and when I said we barely slept, he said, oh yeah the construction work!!!
- 2 cocktails $60! Ouch
- Rooms not ready until 4pm - even if you email in advance.

Boutique hotel in lower manhattan
Pros:

After seeing several good reviews, as much as i want to like this hotel, it fell short. Room has a boutique hotel feel, but red walls and wallpaper makes it look dated. The dark sofa in the room was dirty, with white stains, but never properly cleaned even after mentioning it twice. No one followed up either which ruined the experience. The breakfast at the restaurant was good but we had to wait over 20 min for a seat. Location wise it’s in good walking distance if you are exploring the lower part of the city. Also easy access to subway lines near by.

Second Stay
Pros:

I stayed for four nights in May on business in room 503, which opened directly onto the Temple Court-style atrium. Some noise from below did carry up into the room, but overall I found the space comfortable, spacious, and very well laid out.

The room included both a proper desk and a separate table, along with a large wardrobe, which made it functional for a longer business stay. The water pressure and temperature were excellent, the Wi-Fi worked reliably throughout my stay, and I appreciated that a steamer was already provided in the room.

The location was also extremely convenient. Several subway lines are within a couple of blocks, making it very easy to get around the city efficiently. On a Friday afternoon with particularly bad traffic, I was able to take the train directly to JFK, which ended up being a major advantage.

My primary frustration was that the included $100 food and beverage credit could not be applied toward room service, which felt unnecessarily restrictive. Breakfast, included through my Virtuoso rate, was perfectly acceptable, though not especially memorable.

What truly stood out, however, was the concierge team. Prior to arrival, they provided one of the best concierge outreach emails I’ve ever received, including an exceptionally thoughtful and well-curated list of nearby restaurants, amenities, and recommendations. It materially improved the experience of staying in the area.

Great location for Brooklyn and connecting to the rest of Manhattan, but ...
Pros:

I stayed at The Beekman because I was visiting family who live in Brooklyn. The hotel is in an excellent location for this, just at the Manhattan end of the Brooklyn Bridge. I walked across the bridge to meet my family. The location is also very convenient for getting anywhere else in the city, as there are several nearby subway stops with many lines. My room was comfortable and very clean. The housekeeping staff did a great job. There was, however, a considerable amount of street noise at night, more than the usual NYC honks and sirens. Even earplugs did not help. I can't comment on the breakfast because it wasn't available on the day of my stay because of an issue with the kitchen. That was also a disappointment, especially since my reservation included a credit for breakfast. The front desk staff was often not able to answer the phone. The valet service was very quick and efficient.

Bugs at the Beekman
Pros:

TL;DR Came to this hotel for my mom's birthday weekend. Was incredibly disappointed and left with flea bites.

Positives: interesting architecture and historical feel. Very nice bellman in the front. The food at the restaurant was decent. The bar area is a very popular and lively nighttime spot.

Cons: very junky decor, especially in the rooms. The photo depicted here on trip advisor is not at all how my room or my parents' room looked. There was about 1 million furniture items in the room and barely any space to maneuver. Made me feel like I was staying in somebody's grandma's attic.

The worst part was that on the last day, my mom noticed that she had all these bites on her feet and ankles. They were extremely itchy. She immediately thought they were bug bites and I agreed. "They could be anything!" you might protest. I am a dermatologist and diagnose bug bites all the time and these were definitely bug bites, most likely from fleas. When my mom informed the hotel on checkout, they of course denied that anyone ever had reported such a thing but did offer to have an exterminator check out the room they stayed in. Whether that ever actually happened is hard to say because we were checking out and we never received any proof of such a check. Of course the exterminator came back saying that they didn't find evidence of any bugs. We did notice that the hotel is dog friendly (we saw a pug on our floor) and with all the fabric and upholstered furniture, it is easy to imagine how bugs could thrive there.

We will definitely not be staying here ever again. But maybe a place to consider if you want to bring your dog (and they're on flea medicine of course)?

Expected way better quality and comfort for the value and legacy of the Beekman
Pros:

All staff members were exceptionally nice and helpful. They were quick to apologize for issues.

Cons:

The first morning we woke up to a 77 deg room because the AC was broken. They said normally they check that before we check in but "forgot" in this case. The second morning there was loud banging for 40 minutes starting at 7 am as they worked on a repair in a nearby room. Both days we really wanted to sleep in and relax but were unable to do so. I also informed the property that this was my engagement weekend with the hopes they would do something special, even a simple "congratulations" upon check in but nothing happened.

Definitely the Place to Stay
Pros:

Very nice place. The staff was super nice, friendly, and helpful. The location can't be beat. The property itself is very "New York" for lack of a better term, meaning it's charming and has a certain vibe. Great food and drinks.
