A true hidden gem in authentic Crete – an unforgettable stay! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We stayed at Alexander Mountain Resort in Gerakari from 23 to 26 July, and it was truly one of the most pleasant surprises of our trip to Crete.
From the very first moment, we felt welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. The staff are exceptional, always smiling, kind and ready to help with any request. A special mention goes to Mrs. Evangelia, whose kindness, courtesy and availability went far beyond what one could normally expect. She has a wonderful way of making guests feel not simply welcomed, but truly cared for - we still remember the Greek dance night at the pool side!
The resort itself is beautiful, spotless, well maintained and easily accessible. Our room was lovely, comfortable and impeccably clean, with everything well looked after and in excellent condition.
And then there is the food! We ate extremely well, with delicious dishes and generous portions, all at prices that are, quite frankly, incredibly reasonable. The value for money is exceptional – something that is becoming increasingly rare.
The resort also has a very spacious parking area, which is extremely convenient. Guests can enjoy a swimming pool, tennis court, basketball hoop and mini-golf, all in an atmosphere of absolute peace and tranquillity.
But perhaps what makes Alexander Mountain Resort truly special is its location. Gerakari is a beautiful, peaceful mountain village, far from the crowds and tourist chaos of Crete’s famous coastal resorts. Staying here gives you the opportunity to discover a quieter Crete, genuine, still full of the flavours, traditions and atmosphere of the island of the past.
For us, Alexander Mountain Resort is not simply a place to stay: it is a destination in itself, a little pearl hidden in the Cretan mountains.

Pros:

Diese Hotel ist eigentlich sehr schön und auch sehenswert. Wenn man diesem kleinen Juwel eine Seele geben würde könnte man die Schönheit erkennen.

Cons:

Die Außenanlagen werden leider nicht gepflegt. Pool Liegen sind defekt , das Licht in der Pool Toilette funktioniert nicht , die Scheiben der Poolbegrenzung wurden schon lange nicht gereinigt und ,und ,und.
Schade um dieses eigentlich schöne Objekt.

Une excellente adresse alliant nature, détente et convivialité.
Pros:

Un séjour absolument reposant au cœur de la montagne crétoise, parfait pour déconnecter. Le calme, l'authenticité du lieu et l'amabilité incroyable du personnel rendent l'expérience inoubliable. Les équipements (piscine, tennis, mini-golf et le superbe musée pittoresque) ainsi que la piscine dédiée aux suites sont de véritables atouts.

Cons:

Seuls bémols : le petit-déjeuner manque un peu de variété malgré sa bonne qualité, et certains équipements comme le mini-golf mériteraient d'être rénovés, même s'ils restent fonctionnels. Une adresse authentique que je recommande chaudement !

Hotel familial et spacieux, jolie vue, déco brocante chaleureuse, personnel un peu froid.
Pros:

Un endroit hors du temps avec une déco de collectionneurs qui crée une ambiance chaleureuse. Les chambres sont spacieuses. L’accueil est poli mais manque un peu de chaleur. Peut-être la barrière de la langue. La piscine est bien entretenue. Très belle vue sur la montagne.

Cons:

Un gros bémol sur le petit déjeuner surtout si l’on ne mange pas salé. Pas de lait chaud, pas de miel, des fruits d’hiver ou en boîte. Pas de yaourt juste un fromage blanc très compact, idéal pour le salé.
La lumière du couloir qui ne s’éteint pas la nuit et filtre sous la porte, la literie un peu molle mais c’est une histoire de goût. Le menage de la chambre oublié 2 fois sur 7 jours.

The hotel is in a beautiful location, and it is clear that a significant and expensive investment has been made in the facilities and the property itself.

Cons:

Unfortunately, our overall experience was seriously affected by the level of service. When it came to the staff and, especially, the management, the way customers were treated was, to say the least, amateurish and certainly not in line with the standard the hotel appears to aim for.

It is a real shame, because this is a very nice property in an excellent location. With more professional management, better customer service, and greater respect for guests, the experience could have been completely different.
