Wonderful view
Pros:

Beautiful Seaview in bedroom and bar, chairs and table in room, easy to find, close to restaurants, train and boats. Good range of food at breakfast, mostly friendly staff.

Cons:

Although most important places cleaned, everywhere else needed decorating or, at least, washing down to get rid of scuff marks and dirt probably left by workmen. Stairs needed hoovering.

Don’t recommend.
Pros:

Great location…

Cons:

Room nothing like the pictures, definitely not worth the £200+ paid. Needs a major overhaul.
Dirty carpet, broken floorboards, peeling paint, overpowering bleach smell in the hall and room.

If you want to spend a miserable time in Oban, choose this hotel: avoid at all costs even if they offer you a room at no
Pros:

There is absolutely nothing to like about this property.

Cons:

It is dirty, damp and should be closed down until it is totally refurbished.

Pros:

Plenty on offer at Breakfast

Cons:

State of the rooms. No fresh towels or rooms made up over the 3 night stay. Workmen working in the room next door hammering and sawing from 7am.

Lage super / Frühstück ok / ansonsten „na ja“
Pros:

Gute Lage und freundliches Personal

Cons:

Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen; erkennbar ist noch, dass es (weit im letzten Jahrtausend) um ein tolles Hotel gewesen sein muss / heute sieht man an allen Ecken und Enden das dringend renoviert werden sollte

My stay on the way back was lovely, very nice room. The night porter was also very helpful.
Pros:

I stayed here on my back from the islands. The single room I was allocated was lovely. Newly refurbished with an en-suite. Very clean and a lovely view.

Cons:

On my way out to the islands I was allocated a different room. It was on the 3rd floor, not very clean and very shabby. The bath taps were connected to the shower, really difficult to turn off and the water nearly reached the top of the bath. I did not feel comfortable in this room at all, it was expensive and definitely not worth the price, disappointing.

Least said, the better. Not to be repeated.
Pros:

The bedding and the bathroom towels were clean. smart and up-to-standard.

Cons:

The check-in experience was a nightmare. Despite my completing an online check-in 2 days earlier, the clerk demanded to scan my debit card 'out of sight' due to 'company policy'. He insisted he didn't have enough details of who I was, until I showed him the e-booking details on my phone and printout. I do NOT accuse him of the 'skimming' scam, but both Booking.com and my card provider warn very strongly against such practices. I insisted on access to the Duty Manager. That was serially refused.

The room had accumulated dust and dirt in several corners, which we photographed. The bathroom had several areas of toxic black mould ( asthma suffers beware! ) and broken/chipped tiling in multiple places. A selection of pics is attached.

Worst of all, the electrical connection to the heated towel rail near the bath/shower was fractured, exposing bare electrical leads. A water splash or a knock with a foot or towel would have made the towel rail 'live' - and lethal. I pushed it back in place....

Pros:

Location was ideal

Cons:

The rooms are terrible. We had to ask to change rooms as first room was that bad. Only good thing about second room was the view
