It was a lovely hotel with beautiful views
Parking for Disabled drivers was not good, workmen working on the building next door covered my car with small bits of rubble which left my car with micro scratches all over my paintwork. I also needed to take my mother to her room in the lift which was like mission impossible every time as this lift was the smallest I have ever been in.
The location
It was old, dirty, smelly and the staff were unable to make suitable accommodations or offer any apologies for the poor service.
The beds were clean and comfortable.
Location was perfect a lovely old building
The reception staff were very welcoming
The hotel and rooms are in a major need of upgrading.
The flooring was dirty and paintwork pealing just needs a complete overhaul
Posizione, personale
Non hanno rifatto le camere quotidianamente e ci hanno fatto cambiare camera
Am Auseinanderfallen. Da wurde schon jahrelang nichts mehr investiert.
Location and breakfast were very good.
The hotel is very tired and in need of refurbishment. Decor is poor and room was basic and sparsely furnished.
The position is very startegical
The parking is useful because it’s not easy to find one in Oban
The towel radiator was not functioning and we reported this to the attendant but nothing happened. The air dryer wasnt’ working. The room was very dusty and smelly. The floor was unstable. During the night we heared a lot of noise due to the decrepit conditions of the structure of the building. The parking costs 10£ a day.
The bed was comfortable, food was nice if a bit expensive, the barman was funny
The parking situation. I asked in advance if we could have a parking spot to be told nope sorry, it's first come first served which is fair enough. We got there and there was four empty parking spaces happy days! We parked in one, came to check in we said we managed to get a space then were told sorry you'll have to move your car because the parking is fully booked. My husband and I said about the communication with the hotel and the woman at front desk said yes that's right we don't reserve parking in advance which blew our minds because she was literally telling us to move because the space was reserved. Then she made it clear that no. You can't reserve a spot but if you show up early in the morning, check in and pay £10 for parking you can come and go as you please, but you can't book this in advanced. I still don't understand. If you can pay to reserve a parking space in a car park that's meant to be free for guests then why can't you pay in advance or why allow a space to be reserved at all if you don't reserve spaces? If it's first come first served fine but if you choose to leave then that's on you if your spot gets taken? Ridiculous
The worst bit is we weren't the only one not to get this memo. I saw a woman go out to her car and thought she was leaving so took the opportunity to stand in the spot so my husband could get the car (we have dogs and chose this hotel because they have a car park for guests, just not ones that travel 6-8hrs to get there) the woman moves her car to a spot that wasn't really a parking spot so I asked her why she moved if she had a spot and she informed me that she was eating her dinner/tea and has had a few to drink but the front desk woman came to fetch her to move her car.
L’emplacement.
