Quite dated and bathroom not 100% cleaned
The venue was great and central
Very shabby, not very clean, spillages on doors and grubby. Room was very dated. Windows were crumbling. Curtains were hanging off. Breakfast was ok. Staff certainly not over friendly or helpful. Charged for over night parking which we dodnt know in advance.
Location, view from the room & the bar man
Pretty much everything. Very overpriced plus you had to pay £10 per day to park at the property. Really needs major upgrades to justify price. Guest stairs are a hazard and haven't been cleaned in what looks like years. Staff apart from the bar man need to go on a course to learn how to smile. Breakfast staff not very attentive & the buffet ran out more than once. We definitely won't stay there again.
Location, cheaper
Too bad interiors, need renovation
I liked nothing about this hotel
Everything hotel is very run down staff are aggressive apart from the bar man Steve he was friendly
Nothing.
We were completely fooled. I reserved a double room with sea view. The photos on Booking showed a spacious room, bright and nicely decorated with a clean, modern bathroom with white tiled walls. NOT AT ALL WHAT WE GOT!! This is illegal marketing, I can't believe they get away with it! We had a room that was old and tired. The ceiling was cracked and badly repaired, there was rotten, dirty, grubby woodwork, an ancient sash window with peeling paint that wouldn't open and it was hot and stifling, dirty skirtings and the bathroom was like nothing I have stayed in since my student days! Old bath, terrible blackened, decaying sealant, old WC, old door, cheap horrible door handles and locks, filthy carpet, cheap, overused furniture, generally awful! I thought I had gone mad in choosing such a room, until I checked the photos again on Booking and realised it was nothing like the photos. The whole hotel is delapidated, the lift is minute, dirty and frankly, quite scarey, the starecase (we tried to avoid the lift) was totally torn and worn right through and dangerous. I feel like we have been taken for a ride. I will be making a formal complaint.
It’s a nice old- fashioned Scottish hotel which I like.
There was nothing I didn’t like about the property.
Parking available to front. Cars charged at £10. Mcycles free in the yellow painted area behind metal poles. Good room and private bathroom all worked well. Bar and dining room available. Breakfast quite good. Easy, short walk to town.
Pillows not so good but two provided for each person.
My husband loved the cooked breakfast. I enjoyed the croissants. Choice of teas and plenty of water and juice. Also fruit and yoghurt if you prefer.
The subsidence in the apartment. Also the windows hardly opened, so no air got in. Was just very warm outside with no breeze, so wasnt necessarily your fault. Air con would be great idea.
Good location. Beds comfortable, shower pressure great.
Property needs some TLC and money spent to upgrade. Tv in room didn’t work well. Limited sound proofing.
Location and view
The bed
Large Excrement imprint on towel
Lack of customer service - or understanding of the situation - given the awfulness.
I was told our supplier would not have supplied the towel (Facilities Manager attitude was disgraceful shouting passing comments like a yob)
Main Manager immediately the next morning said she would be speaking to the supplier she was shocked that this had happened and knew exactly where to go
House Keeping said the towels are taken out of the package straight from supplier not checked and laid out (our next hotel said they always check towels before placing)
Parts of the hotel are falling down, awful area by the lift lower floor a junk area
View from window was of scaffolding, garden view looked derelict.
Never again - wherever I go in the future I will always check towels thoroughly. I didn’t expect the Bellagio but this was shocking
Central and had a good view- but only from the bar.
The Barman on duty Friday night was friendly and helpful.
The hotel was tired looking- in need of updating.
Bedroom was clean enough but shabby.
Evening meal was mediocre.
Staff were distant and not attentive.

In need of refurbishment
The location
Our bathroom had mould in the shower , the room needed painted and the tv worked intermittently. Also normally don’t bother about pricing but £2.75 for a cold tin of iron brew was expensive ☹️
Its a stone throw from the centrum, breakfast was ok, some of the staff was very friendly.
The place is practically falling apart - wallpapers falling, water damage on the ceiling, don't bother going down the stairs where they dont clean at all. The elevator is creaking and despite saying on their booking that there was supposed to be parking, there was none available for us, so they told us to go on a parking lot where u normally pay but that day was free until 9 am in the morning (check out is 10 am, so we needed to pay for it). There were no working lamps in the bathroom, only in the mini corridor in front of it, the wallpapers in the room were peeling.
