This was not a great experience.

Starting with the smaller issues that made the hotel feel below the standard that was advertised: in addition to ants in the shower, it was impossible to regulate the water temperature. One day the water was scalding hot, and the next it was ice cold. The breakfast was acceptable, but items were not replenished very well.

What really made us feel that something was not right, however, was what happened when we went to pay the evening before check-out. The receptionist offered us a discounted rate of approximately €30. This discounted price was only available that evening and only if we paid in cash.

When we asked why paying in cash would be cheaper than paying by card, the receptionist suddenly seemed to lose his ability to speak English, despite having spoken it perfectly well up until that point. He then started mumbling in Italian about commissions and card reader fees. We might have dismissed this as an odd interaction if it had not been for an apparent scam attempt we experienced before our arrival.

Prior to check-in, we received a WhatsApp message containing all of our booking details, stating that additional information was required and that we needed to provide it through a link in the message. I found this suspicious and contacted the property through Booking.com, where they confirmed that they had not sent the WhatsApp message.

Regardless of whether this was the result of misconduct by someone associated with the hotel or an external security breach, the situation is deeply concerning. The WhatsApp message contained accurate booking details that should not have been available to unauthorized parties. If the message did not originate from the hotel or its staff, this raises serious questions about how our personal booking information was obtained.

O café da manha é básico.

1) There is an illegal obstruction of the stairwell exits from the rooms to the ground floor and there is no proper signage leading one to any exit whatsoever. The Lecce authorities ought to shut this place down on this fact alone because this flies in the face of European Union regulations on fire hazards and could potentially cost live

2) There were ants in my bathroom.

3) The bathroom was not cleaned well as was evident by the presence of a few stray human hairs in the sink when I came in.

4) There was one rinky-dinky air conditioner stuffed in a corner next to the closet. It barely functioned and was not enough to cool down the room no matter how long you kept it on for.

5) The single functioning elevator was monopolized by a cleaning staff for a full 10 minutes during peak morning hours. I was trapped on my floor, with all my luggage, and no way to get downstairs.

6) The breakfast was absolute crap. No fresh fruits or vegetables, store bought cheap cardboard like dessert layout, barely any fresh water, no meat dishes, no proper cheese, nothing. Dogs in Lecce likely eat better than do this hotel's guests.

I was travelling in June and the temperature in the room when I arrived was over 25 degrees. The man on reception moved me to a different room but even with the aircon on for two hours the temperature was still 25.7 degrees. Ultimately, I made the decision to move hotels and was offered a slight reduction on the price but not a full refund.

La habitación fue un fiasco, demasiado pequeña, sin lugar para poner las maletas. El AA no enfriaba bien, la ventana con una cortina que no tapaba la luz desde las 5 hs.
Para llegar a ella había que atravesar una terraza al aire libre.
El bidet semitapado y casi no cabía en el espacio de ducha.
Cuando reclamé, el argumento del conserge fue que había contratado la "smart"???
Le dije q eso significa "inteligente" y no "pequeña". Pero no me resolvieron la situación...

The room we got at the hotel was in a building that must have been connected with the main building at a later stage so while there is a lift, to get to the room you need to go up and down stairs.
In addition the structure of the room was really odd, including the bathroom where the toilet was placed in an uncomfortable way. The window was barely covered by a curtain and an odd cover for the lower section.
