The attitude of the young man trying to serve breakfast this morning, Saturday 11th July. We stopped to speak before we left the restaurant.
The long list of poor reviews we should have read before we booked.
The uncleanness of the hotel, all areas. The attitude of the girl on reception as she delt with a young couple who changed their minds and declined to stay, leaving at 2230 hrs.
The absence of breakfast products, crockery and cutlery.
The unfased reaction from the reception girl when I spoke to her asking her to get assistance for the restaurant staff as guests were milling around the restaurant unable to get their breakfast and obviously extremely unhappy.
The condition of the room. Paint peeling and flaking off the walls. Bedbug boxes under the beds. Food food under the bed. No water in bottles available in the room. Wouldn't drink water from the taps. Grime on the radiators.
The levels of staff were so low that that is clearly a "Compass" strategy to keep costs down. Staff morale is rock bottom. Compass has clearly not invested in the building or staff training. No manager was available, it was all overseen by extremely young people with wholly inadequate customer service or in fact hospitality experience. We are clearly not the only guests who have complained, but poor feedback is clearly swiped away with excuses. There are not enough adjectives to describe how poor our stay was.

What a shame. Clearly one of the largest employers in the town and the employees so disrespected by the hotel chain owners.

My advice, don't waste your money.
It may sell itself by it's strategic prominence overlooking the town........STAY AWAY ! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Ell was good, food, location and the staff were very helpful and very good.
Our room could do with some upgrading, bathroom suite was tired and could do with being renewed. Some of the wall tiles were loose and ready to fall off.

Das angebotene und gebuchte Zimmer durch Booking.com entsprach nicht dem, was uns zur Verfügung gestellt wurde.
Erst nachdem ich an der Rezeption das Zimmer montiert hatte, bekamen wir 2 andere Zimmer zur Auswahl. Diese waren zwar besser, aber entsprachen leider immer noch nicht den gebuchten Leistungen.
Die Fotos entsprachen nicht der Realität.
Wir haben uns damit arrangiert.
The attentive and polite staff, the food, the rustic charm, the outstanding views!, the ease of access to the village and the bay/beach itself, the bar, the restaurant, and the amenities, if your after piece and quiet nestled within some of the most beautiful landscapes, this is the place to pick.
That the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed with the higher influx of custom, but that's not their fault, again very professional, very attentive and incredibly warm and polite form the chef to the front desk staff to the night porter and housekeeping, lack of smithwicks but again it's not Ireland it's Scotland lol, for those inclined the bitters close enough!

Nedslitt og gammelt.
Veldig skittent både i fellesområder og rommene var rett og slett ekkel, var brunt belegg i badekaret og dusjforheng var revet bort med fri innsikt i vinduet.
Det var såppas skittent og ubehagelig at ingen av oss ville dusje der.
The staff were so kind and helpful. The location was perfect and the view from the hotel was so beautiful
It was a bit old but that gave it the rustic feel. And to be honest I loved it about the hotel

The patio furniture could use some updating and the bar wasn't staffed with its own person. The restaurant staff was doing double duty so you had to wait until someone popped into the bar or flag someone down
