Good location but customer service needs work.
Pros:

Good location and cute INN. The price was reasonable. However the ac did not work well in our room and it was hot. We told the front desk and nothing was done to compensate us. We were told the manager would give us a call.

Highly Recommend!
Pros:

My girlfriend and I are locals in the Raleigh/Cary area and decided to book a night at The Mayton to celebrate her birthday — and it absolutely delivered. Sometimes the best trips are the ones closest to home, and this was a perfect reminder of that.
The hotel has a wonderfully quaint, boutique feel that you just don't get at larger chain properties. The location in downtown Cary is ideal — walkable and convenient without feeling busy or touristy.
The real standout for us was Peck & Plume. The food was exceptional, the service was warm and attentive, and the whole dining experience felt special without being stuffy. Exactly what you want for a celebration.
If you're a local looking for a night away without the hassle of travel, or a visitor wanting a charming alternative to the big Raleigh hotels — The Mayton is the answer. We'll absolutely be back.

Cute and Quaint Hotel
Pros:

This hotel is perfectly positioned in the center of Cary’s downtown.
We had a great time staying there. It was cute and quaint with areas to sit and relax both inside and out.
Only suggestion:
- tell folks about the free parking lot across the street as well as the permitted parking area

The rooms are very comfortable and updated. They have a desk and a sitting chair as well as a nice sized closet and dresser. The bathroom Is also very nice.

There is a really nice park with fountains and a botanical garden as well as restaurants in walking distance. There are many trails nearby as well.

Very safe neighborhood.

Very walkable. We walked to most places that were in the neighborhood.

Lots of cute coffee shops nearby as well as other types of food for lunch, dinner, and snacks.

Free parking near the hotel and across the street.

Quiet Quaint Boutique Hotel
Pros:

The Mayton located in downtown Cary is a lovely place for a traveler to stop. It is walkable to restaurants, shops and a lovely park. We were there on a Sunday so we missed the Peek & Plume restaurant but will try to visit when we return. The team is very courteous and Dana gave us perfect recommendations.

Quaint and cozy downtown retreat
Pros:

Downtown carey is a quaint cozy location across from park and down from art building.

Accommodations: Room #303 (deluxe king), floor 3 non-ADA cozy and authentic feeling on Academy rd. Room has a distinct attic feeling rather than the other exterior rooms that are straight walls.

Amenities: Mini-fridge, coffee maker. No microwave.

Accessibility & Logistics: For travelers navigating with mobility aids (manual or motorized wheelchairs), this property offers accessible elevator access.

Parking: The property offers a small, first-come-first-served onsite lot.

Dining & Service: The polite, central hospitality is a highlight. No complimentary breakfast. However, there is Peck and Plume on site for breakfast, lunch and dinner with 15% off for guests.

Beautiful Hotel in a Great Location
Pros:

Really enjoyed our state at the Mayton. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The hotel and rooms were very clean and no musty or old odors (I think hotel is fairly new). Great location, walking distance to a lot of restaurants, and only a short drive to downtown store areas. Also right next door to a park that was nice to walk (and for people traveling with kids, had a nice play area). Would definitely recommend!

Lovely hotel!!!
Pros:

Lovely, comfortable hotel! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Although next time, I would request an odd-numbered room, so I don't hear the train noise at night. I would definitely stay here again.

A Refined Stay at The Mayton Inn: Charm, Comfort, and Quiet Details
Pros:

A stay at The Mayton Inn feels, at first glance, like stepping into a carefully curated tableau equal parts Southern charm and polished nostalgia. My family and I recently checked in for an overnight stay, arriving with fond memories from a previous visit. While we noted the absence of an electric vehicle charging station this time around, the initial disappointment quickly softened as we made our way inside.

Entering through a side door, we were immediately enveloped in an atmosphere reminiscent of a Ralph Lauren Home showroom warm hues, layered textures, and an unmistakable sense of intentionality. Two fireplaces, positioned in quiet conversation with one another, anchored the space and created an inviting setting for guests to gather. Just beyond, Peck & Plume hinted at the culinary experience to come, building anticipation for the evening ahead.

Check-in was seamless, led by a front desk attendant whose warmth set the tone for the stay. The lobby itself struck a delicate balance quaint yet refined, with the comforting familiarity of a well-loved home. Complimentary parking is available on-site, though it requires a quick registration process before displaying a pass in your vehicle.

Upstairs, the second-floor corridors are lined with thoughtfully selected artwork, guiding guests to their rooms. Ours, a corner suite, offered gentle natural light and a pleasant view overlooking the nearby park and neighboring restaurant. A small but notable detail: the inclusion of white noise in the room, a subtle yet intentional touch for a more restful night’s sleep.

The room itself, however, leaned toward simplicity. While clean and functional, it lacked the layered character found in the hotel’s common spaces. The absence of a headboard and minimal decorative elements left the sleeping and living areas feeling slightly under-designed. That said, the bathroom was a standout bright, fresh, and beautifully appointed.

One of the more charming offerings of the property is its complimentary bicycles, which we happily took advantage of. Though a bit worn and in need of maintenance, they added a playful and memorable element to the stay. Notably absent were spa services, which had been available in previous years.

In the end, The Mayton Inn delivers as a cozy, character-driven retreat—ideal for a relaxed staycation or a quiet weekend away. It may not overwhelm with grandeur, but its warmth and charm leave a lasting impression.

Disappointing
Pros:

1. The guest room was freezing and wouldn’t adjust.
2. Champagne and fruit plate I ordered was not in our room when we arrived. They had no record of it, but I had a confirmation email. The surprise was ruined.
3. The Easter brunch was WAY overpriced. At $69 per person, it should have at least included one breakfast cocktail per person and some premium foods. dessert was just OK.
4. The Tickets we received for two free drinks at the bar expired just hours after we got them, but no one told us.
