The pool!
Breakfast. Room
Building tatty, some parts needed real maintenance attention
The staff were helpful but understaffed
Carpets in room were stained. Double bed was 2 really hard single beds pushed together. The pool is open to the public and only good if you like swimming lanes and you have to wear a swimming cap not what I want on a holiday. Reminded me of a haven holiday camp not great
Beautiful location, and the views were just fabulous
The location is good. The lido is excellent and the life guard is very pleasant and helpful. Lovely bathroom and quality toiletries.
The restaurant is understaffed. The wait to be served is lengthy. Food was good but the service was too slow. The bar had run out of cider, Guiness and ice. We waited 20+ minutes on arrival for someone to check us in. The cold water dispensers were both empty too. Little details are missing. No information in the room about menus, breakfast times and WiFi. We had to prop the windows open with water bottles. The lights were very dusty too. Our room never got serviced whilst we there so no clean towels. The amount we paid did not present good value.
The hotel has an outside pool which was ideal on a hot day but was obviously busy.
The hotel was very tired in places and in need of refurbishment. The dining area was nice but in the communal areas of the hotel the carpets were dirty and in need of cleaning. It was the same in our bedroom, the sofa and carpets were dirty. We were in a ‘garden room’ overlooking the pool but the entrance door to the building was broken and the building itself was in dire need of refurbishment.
lido and lifeguard's were really friendly and helpful
rooms carpet looked like it needed changing as all ruffled up into lumps on the ground and could trip over it, Tables were all sticky with old cup marks on . All information books were stuck to sticky sideboards just a simple wipe down would of solved this.
The staff was polite and it was a quiet room with balcony.
The carpet was stained and has fleas jumping about. I managed to grab 4 and left in a glass of hot water in the bathroom. I have been bitten all around my ankles was not a nice experience even though I paid over £180 to stay here for just 1 night
Scenic good location. The Lido.
Needs refurbishing . Bathroom sink cracked, floor slippery. Too many stairs. Understaffed. Very small room. Stifling in the heat..There was no fan or hairdryer .
The hotel decor was charming and the facilities were good.
Particularly enjoyed the lido.
No hairdryer in room. Rang reception with no answer, visited reception to be told they would try and find a spare - this never materialised.
Dust in bedroom - bedside light bulbs thick with dust and cobwebs on ceiling.
Collapsed section on mattress which was uncomfortable.
Squeaky door handle on bathroom door - unnecessarily disruptive to partner in the night
Loose basin tap.
No serving utensils put out for porridge at breakfast.
For the price, would expect individual tea and coffee servings at breakfast. The communal coffee was substandard, and standing by the hot water dispenser waiting for tea to brew - and subsequently milk - wasn't ideal.
Found we could not open our bedroom window, a hot day, and knew we would find it very uncomfortable. My husband found it very annoying you could not wind up the net curtain. Fortunately we were given a new room with windows that opened. Receoptionist very helpful. A 4.5ft bed a challenge. But of course we were near the front door, husband slept through the 5 groups of revealers returning. The carpet in the room was dirty.Bathroom excellent. No shower floor mat. Made the shower slippery, and no hand rails?
Friendly staff.
Clean room.
Good location.
Bedroom curtain hanging off.
Small breakfast choices (croissants hard)
