False Advertising - Aviod!
Cons:

This property is falsely advertised. They use nice pictures online, however when you arrive it is dirty and run down. Paint is coming off the walls, walls and carpets are stained, there are spiders and cobwebs in the room. The pool was closed upon arrival with no prior warning, other guests left and went to a different hotel because of this. Our children were afraid to sleep at the hotel describing it as ‘creepy’. We were due to stay for 2 nights but left after 1.
Have requested a partial refund, but have so far been ignored by both the hotel and booking.com.
Avoid at all costs.

colud have been better
Pros:

the Building was lovely

Cons:

upon arriving at the Hotel after a 3 hour journey we just wanted to know if our room was ready. nobody seemed to know. so we went to the bar which was very limited in its choice of drinks. there were no menus for breakfast or lunch in the rooms and the staff seemed to be not very well trained. we decided to eat out. when we got back to the hotel at 7 on the saturday night there was a wedding function in a room not far from ours and the music was ridiculously loud it was making the walls vibrate. after 2 hours of this i complained and was told it would finish at 11. it finished at 20 past 11. all in all a crap experience which is a shame as the hotel is actually a lovely building. i wouldnt go there again.

Beautiful hotel with yummy breakfast
Pros:

Great breakfast. Lots of choice.
Saved our bags until our room was ready.
Let us get ready on the spa.

Cons:

I booked/ was expecting a twin room but got a double instead.
The night staff didn't seem to know the cost of breakfast. They said £20 instead of £12.

Pros:

Really calm and pleasant main building and outside spaces.Staff were friendly and professional.Spa staff were exceptional

Cons:

I did not like the lack of information about the realities of moving between main building and the annexe our room was in.I had a senior with me who was not good with stairs and that was not made at all clear that 6 lots of stairs would be necessary to access main hotel area. The rooms lacked basic information about hotel facilities and menus etc.I didn't like watching a single cleaner having to work alone..I thought she did a great job in clearly under resourced circumstances.linked to that..i consodered a check in time of 3.00 pm later than most hotels i have stayed in...so to be kept waiting for an hour was not ok.Staff we dealt with were lovely and gave us a drink. But,the actual manager visibly saw we were with luggage and waiting and at no point asked if we were ok or needed something.I'm sure his business meeting was important but i thought it rude to not acknowedge guests where they shouldnt be expected to be.We understood the local business of the lido...but as non strong swimmers,we felt inhibited to fully profit from the time and booking in the hotel because we didnt feel included enough to use the lido when unable to swim the lengths required..my mother is not strong enough for that but we felt guests needs came second to the lido.I have stayed for far less money in better rooms. The fact the shower screen couldnt open due to the side bath rail baffled me. Bathroom clean but shabby not in a chic way.The abscence of a mini fridge or mini bar was not essential but the value of the room price was over priced.

Such a shame, the hotel has so much potential
Pros:

All the staff are absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful. A family group of 6 adults, we ate breakfast twice, lunch once and evening meal once in the hotel, all serving staff were great, the food was a good standard, breakfast is all completely self serve, the coffee wasn’t hot but bearable, staff low in number. My elderly mum was delighted with the young girl working in the bar area on the Saturday, she was friendly and helpful and really looked after my mum, wish we knew her name. The hotel is in a lovely spot, the spring water pool well used and the grassed area around, pool staff were helpful with a sense of humour.

Cons:

This was our third visit, the last 3 years ago. The hotel could be so lovely with some TLC and a deep clean. It desperately needs updating is a lot of areas, it’s a shame. We stayed in ground floor rooms with a balcony overlooking the pool. There was a big party in the function room in the evening, as there had been on our last visit and not a problem then but sadly a group of teenagers insisted on running up and down just below the balconies to our rooms, they were rude and noisy and continued until well after 12am when the party finished, we couldn’t sleep for the noise and tried phoning reception for help but they never answered. Such a shame, it has so much potential, we won’t be going back.

Good stay
Pros:

Staff were helpful and welcoming and the bed was really comfortable. I had an upstairs balcony room, so it was lovely to sit outside in the evening.

Cons:

More could have been made of the grounds. It has been a hot dry summer but some Mediterranean planting could have really brightened up the beds and made the most of the space.
